While there is a variety of shots throughout the teaser trailer, the main two that seem to come up a lot are establishing shots and close ups. The close ups allow you to see the character’s expressions more clearly. Establishing shots help set the scene of the film, showing recognisable neighbourhoods and shots of schools to draw the viewers in.

The Mise En Scene easily represents the Teen Drama genre. Some of the clips have been shot in a high school, making it relevant and relatable to the target audience. The characters are dressed in relatable clothing, that you would usually see in an American High School. This makes the teaser more appealing as it is more relatable and the audience will be able to recognise many features.

The tone to the backing music in the Paper Towns Teaser Trailer is cheery and light-hearted, which gives the impression of a optimistic and adventurous narrative. The backing music is rather fast paced, which only adds to the idea of the narrative being based around an adventure, but also adds a sense of urgency and tension. The dialogue from the teaser trailer clearly conveys romantic themes and the general point of the film’s plot line. However, it doesn’t reveal too much information that spoils the film and could make the film undesirable to watch.

There is a lack of variety when it comes to editing techniques, it’s just one long montage. However, the editing is very fast paced, building up the tension between shots, making you wonder what will happen next. This builds up the suspense and gives a dramatic feel to the teaser.
