Analyse two film trailers

By Elijah Henson

Page 2: analyse film trailers

Write about this:

• title of film, • fonts/type used in the poster/trailer, • the tag-line and the colours used in the trailer/poster, • the information text in the trailer, • the action shown in the trailer, • the MISE-EN-SCENE in the posters/trailers which include • the setting, • the lighting, • the characters - look at their facial expressions & body language (NVC), their

clothing/costumes, • the props, • SOUNDTRACK (can tell us if the film is romantic or action or horror or sci-fi… etc) • EDITING (fast paced editing suggests action type films, slow paced editing suggests

drama) • CAMERAWORK (eg an extreme long shot shows that someone is alone or isolated,

medium shot shows most of the body or 2 people in the frame, a WA shot to establish the location/setting)

Now you find a film, take screen grabs/print screens (PRTSC) of your own and copy these

boxes…

If you find you have done ALL this work, then begin analysing on Hybrid Film poster (a film

with more than one genre)
