TONIGHT’S GAME: The Anaheim Ducks open their 2014 preseason schedule as the club takes on the Colorado Avalanche in two split-squad contents tonight at Honda Center (7 p.m.) and Pepsi Center (6 p.m)…tonight’s games mark the first time the Ducks have played two games on the same night in 20 years of preseason competition…there are 16 teams participating in split-squad games this month, including all seven Pacific Division members…the Ducks went 3-4-0 in preseason competition last year and posted a 1-1-0 record vs. Colorado…following tonight’s games in Anaheim and Denver, the Ducks will host the Arizona Coyotes tomorrow at Honda Center (7 p.m.)…Anaheim’s preseason schedule also includes road games in Los Angeles (Thursday, Sept. 25; 7:30 p.m.) and San Jose (Saturday, Sept. 27; 5 p.m.) before concluding with a pair of home contests against the Kings (Sunday, Sept. 28; 5 p.m.) and Sharks (Saturday, Oct. 4; 7 p.m.).
