CROWNE PLAZA ACCELERATE

Launched in June 2016, the Crowne Plaza Accelerate program is a $200 million, three-year initiative to transform the brand in the Americas region and place the Crowne Plaza brand at the forefront of the way modern business travelers want to do business— without constraints.

With design-led, culturally relevant and technology-enabled solutions, the Crowne Plaza Accelerate program is focused on strengthening brand performance; driving quality and consistency; and reimagining the guest experience. Progress to-date is showing strong and visible value for owners.

MARKETING THE BRAND

“We’re All Business, Mostly” is the largest consumer media campaign in 10 years. IHG’s marketing strategy for the Crowne Plaza brand is to raise awareness of the brand, showcase differentiation from the competition, and help hotels generate greater top line revenue. In addition to integrated and broad-based national campaigns, IHG also drives local-level marketing to enhance revenue management capabilities and boost sales contribution from groups and meetings and corporate transient business. Ongoing public relations efforts have also generated coverage for the brand in major media publications, and hotel and hospitality trade publications.

The needs of the Crowne Plaza target guest—the Modern Business Traveler—have evolved and the Crowne Plaza brand has recognized those shifts to provide business travelers and meeting planners with the resources they need to succeed. Groups and meetings business is booming at Crowne Plaza hotels. With dedicated Crowne Meetings Directors trained by Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the Crowne Plaza brand is able to deliver a truly brand differentiated meetings and events experience.

How consumers do business is changing, and by the year 2020, 50% of workers will work remotely. As business travelers become less tethered to old rules, they’re becoming more attracted to the freedom flexible spaces can deliver. The Crowne Plaza brand is the first hotel brand to bring this powerful idea to life—with Plaza Workspace. Intuitively designed and embedded with technology, Plaza Workspace is built specifically for the way people instinctively want to work and be social. Six locations were launched in 2017 with 15-20 planned for 2018. After experiencing Plaza Workspace, 95 percent of guests say they would choose a Crowne Plaza hotel over the competition.

The WorkLife Guest Room is a premium room experience that’s designed around the Modern Business Traveler’s evolving needs, providing an incredible mix of comfort, connectivity and flexibility. The angled bed with cocooning headboard maximizes room space while providing a great night’s sleep, and the nook and desk area allow guests to work, relax and recharge.
