resulting in 11 participating in Medical Specialties Match • Addressed the generalist-subspecialist interface• Worked with specialty societies to develop in-service

exams for fellows• Provided funding for junior faculty to study the

gerentological aspects of their specialty

• Task Force on Teaching and Applying Quality Principles– Create a career development award for junior faculty

with an interest in quality improvement– Create a system for professional development– Create a clearinghouse for quality improvement

resources, best practices, curricula– Draft a white paper on teaching and applying quality

improvement into the academic internal medicine and ambulatory setting

New Policy Initiatives

• Task Force on Part Time Careers– Developed the ASP Task Force on Part-Time Careers

Consensus Statement which was endorsed by all of the associations in AAIM

– Drafted a white paper that has been submitted for publication

– Working with NIH to create a mechanism for allowing part time faculty to apply for and receive K awards
