Farmer’s Wife28459 Old Town Front Street

Mariner’s Compass Stars 25” X 25” Machine pieced and quilted by Carole Donahoe. My very first quilting book was for paper piecing by Carol Doak. Years later when she came to Temecula to teach a class, I was there. She demo’ed her techniques using my fabrics, so I had her sign the block, and now I have an auto-graphed quilt by the author.

Diamond in the Rough 25 “ x 25” Paper pieced and machine quilted by Cheri McDowell. I learned so much from Carol Doak’s great paper piecing work-shop. Adding the machine quilting was a challenge, hence the “Diamond in the Rough”!

The Little Viking28480 Old Town Front Street

Holiday Ribbons 14” x 72” Machine pieced and machine quilted by Adriane Ridder. This table runner helps kindle the holiday spirit in our house. Heat resistant batting makes it even more functional.

Silver Fever 28475 Old Town Front Street “A”

Rainbow Star 25” x 25” Paper pieced and machine quilted by Kathy PolettiI made this beautiful “Rainbow Star” in a Carol Doak class. I wanted to meet her as she is famous in the quilting world. I’ve always liked the colors in the rainbow and I love batiks.

Temecula House of Wine28522 Old Town Front Street

The McCall’s Woman 18.5” x 20”. I love the drama of fashions in the past. I imagine wearing that amazing hat.

Ladies of 1880 16” x 18.5”. Peterson’s Magazines were widely read in their day. I think these dresses would be difficult to walk in.

Lady in Purple 17.5” x 20”. I love the big sleeves and flowing skirt. What elegance. I wonder how long it took to get dressed!

All three quilts were made by printing the pictures from McCall’s and Peterson’s Magazines onto fabric with ink details then bordering each with reproduction fabric. Machine pieced and machine quilted by Marlene Oaks.

Delaney’s Hundred Mile Market41955 5th Street, Suite 101

Falling Leaves 57” x 57” Machine pieced and machine quilted by Sandie Hairgrove. This quilt was designed after an autumn trip to North Carolina and Tennessee. We sat watching the multicolored leaves drift to the ground. Nature is always an inspiration.

Palumbo’s Ristorante41925 5th Street

Dancing Chickens 35.5” x 30.5” Machine appliqued, pieced, and quilted by Sandy Besanson. Embellished with Swarvor-ski crystals.Bright colors and frivolity made this quilt a pleasure to make. What could be happier than dancing chickens???

Gondola Ride 35” x 30” Machine appliqued, pieced , and quilted by Sandy Besanson. The romantic atmosphere of Italy is in its colors, tastes, and sounds. That’s what inspired this boat ride quilt with a yellow sky and a complacent dog.

Bike Ride 27.5” x 32” Machine appliqued, pieced, and quilted by Sandy Besanson. Riding a bike through the countryside of Italy inspired this quilt. Can’t you imagine the wind blowing off his hat???

Old Town Spice Merchants41925 5th Street, #101

Fall Table Runner 22” x 70” Machine pieced and machine quilted by Jan Dolan.I love the rich, warm colors of my favorite season. I fell in love with the focus fabric and thought it would make a lovely table runner. The table runner is sized larger than most table runners but this is a perfect size for my table. It turned out so well, that I have another one in the works in Christmas colors.

Miniature Sampler 19” x 22” Pieced (very patiently) and hand quilted by Sherry RiddleQuilts are sometimes thought of as the spice of life. What better place to display a quilt, but at The Spice Merchant.

Jack’s Nuts42072 Fifth Street, Suite 106

Is It Friday Yet? 57” x 57” Machine pieced, paper pieced, machine quilted by Marc Joost. I wanted to create an art quilt that is fun, colorful and complex, utilizing paper piecing techniques to achieve fine detailed images for some of the centers in this “Log Cabin with Attitude” 49 block quilt.

Temecula Valley Cheese Company42072 5th Street, Suite 101

Summer Blossoms 24” x 24” Hand appliqued, machine pieced and machine quilted by Gloria Bachmann. This quilt shows a warm summer day with a busy bird on a picket fence surrounded by many flowers. Cathy Van Brug-gen’s class taught me how to put shadows on the fence.

Old Town Sweet Shop28545 Old Town Front Street, Suite 101

Kaleidoscope of Colors 64” x 88” Machine pieced and ma-chine quilted by Sandie Hairgrove. This was a fun quilt to assemble. I used a traditional block, Jacob’s Ladder, with contemporary fabric and came up with a colorful, bright, cheerful quilt.
