This cost-effective approach involves completion of a train-the-trainer workshop to become certified as a Peer Instructor. This Peer Instructor can then conduct countless peer-led trainings for the rest of your staff for no additional licensing fee. The only additional cost is the purchase of participant workbooks. HOW IS RESILIENT MINDS DIFFERENT?

Evidence-basedIts effectiveness has been thoroughly researched. Post-training data suggests sustainable and lasting positive changes for fire fighters.

Addresses resiliency from multiple angles

• Self-awareness: Recognize the effects of psychological stressors and trauma, and learn personal tools to manage stress and increase resilience

• Peer support: Learn how to start conversations to support peers, and how to contribute to a psychologically healthy environment in the workplace

• Skills for responding to citizens: Apply communications skills and de-escalation techniques that will inform how to respond promptly, safely and appropriately to distressed citizens

Highly interactiveWhether delivered virtually or in person, Resilient Minds™ includes over 50 different group activities. Practice makes perfect!

Flexible delivery To better fit fire fighters’ schedules, Resilient Minds™ can be delivered in one full day (eight hours), two half days (four hours each), or four short sessions (two hours each). Delivery is in-person or virtual.

Practical tips and takeaways All course participants receive an interactiveworkbook which includes:

• Refreshers of key course concepts (the 4R Action Toolkit™, communication techniques with peers, de-escalation responses)

• Worksheets and self-assessments

• Robust resources customized for fire fighters (including a healthy nutrition guide, sleep habits, tips for decreasing mental health stigma, and more)
