Founder along with well-wishers visited Ahobilam with prayers for successful comple on of abhaya Home

Inspired by the pilgrimage to Kashi/ Kumbha Mela during February, many well-wishers expressed their interest to join for such pilgrimages in future. It was exactly that me, the Chairman of abhaya Home Project, Sri Meda Narasimhulu invited abhaya TEAM to a end the Meet-ing of Management Commi ee of “Ahobila Annadana Sathram” and explain the ac vi es and seek the support. Abhaya believe that this is purely God’s wish and planned to visit Godly place and just shared the news with many people which made as many as 40 well-wishers joining for the 1 day pilgrimage to Ahobilam.

With prayers for successful comple on of abhaya Home Project, the team started on 23rd Feb’13 night and reached abode of Lord Narasimha by 5AM on 24th Feb’13. Founder explained the story behind the pilgrim place and also shared the stories all the temples in and around Ahobilam. This place is the birth place for 4th incar-na on of Lord Maha Vishnu and it is located on Garudachalam in Nallamala forest. This place is also known as “Nava Narasimha Kshetram” as there are nine Narasimha temples located in various postures. It was a wonderful experience to visit most of these temples and it’s really diffi cult to reach a few temples. Pilgrims have to trek the hills and walk for long distances.

A er visi ng all the temples, the team headed towards another holy place Mahanandi which is about 90Kms from Ahobilam. There all the well-wishers took a holy dip in the sacred pushkarini and had darshan of Lord Shiva. All the team is happy to visit two places in a single day and shared their experi-

ences with each other. - KSV Shivakrishna, Treasurer

Mission UmachandranI am herewith sending the bills for the month of January 2013. There is an improvement in Umacchandar's health and the family is also doing well. Now he is much be er as he is tak-ing regular medicine for TB. Last month they have taken spu-tum test the result showed infec on nil but he has to con n-ue course up to 6 months without fail and has to take more healthy and energe c food so that he can recover quickly. Doctor said

Children are going to school reglarly and my sister is also happy regarding her husband’ s health improvement, she wants to convey her thanks to Ab-haya for your contribu on in recovery of her husband. We are working towards ge ng employment for Ms. Padmalatha. – Shanthi Gopalakrishnan, Chennai

Mission Mukesh ... struggling for life

There is no improvement as Mukesh is s ll on the bed and not able to even stand. I made the arrange-ment to bring him to SCB Medical College & Hos-pital at Cu ack around 200kms away from his vil-lage and shown him to a team of doctors from Neuro Surgery, Orthopedican, Physiotherapist who are advising to keep him in the hospital for Physiotherapy for 1 month since there is no medicine for this post surgery neuro-logical disorder. I am trying to organize that to keep him in that hospital for one month since that is giving a ray of hope. Further they are not in a posi on to confi rm if the second surgery will help in ge ng strength to stand.

I consulted one surgeon in NIMHANS, Bangalore with all the medical reports along with MRI scan who is of the opinion that tumor on spinal cord damages it if surgery happens or do not happens but no guarantee that scoliosis surgery will make him to stand and walk. He is sugges ng to bring the pa- ent than they can give their opinion if surgery advisable or not otherwise pay that surgery cost for the

educa on and maintenance of the child life since he will be crippled for the balance part of the life. I am feeling helpless, what direc on I have to go, bringing a 15 yr old boy lying on the bed all the way from 2000 km is also big task. Please suggest something what we should do in this situa on. The Boy and his parents are speechless only almighty can show some light. – FCMA. B.RaulDeputy Manager(Finance), Hindustan Aeronau cs Ltd, Bangalore.

Babu, a 3 years old li le boy fi gh ng with blood cancer I met a family in the train on 12/02/2012 during my journey Vizag. Rayudu is a plumber and lives with his wife , parents and 2 sons at Ravulapalem near, Rajahmundry. The younger son Babu ( 3 years) suff ering from Blood cancer since February, 2012.Mr. Rayudu started providing treatment for the boy in the ini al stage itself, at Li le Stars Children Hospital at Nagarjuna Hills, Panjagu a. As the cost of the treatment being very high and he was unable to bear the expenditure, they shi ed to NTR Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad and they came to know that the treatment covered under Rajeev Aarogya Sri scheme and felt very happy that they are ge ng support from the government and very much hopeful that they can make their kid alive. The doctor gave a statement that the disease cannot be curable but recoverable. They already took Rs.3 lakhs loan ini ally to meet the treatment. But now they are unable to get money even as a loan or debt etc., and also they are unable to leave the kids posi on like that. About Rs. 8000/- PM is needed to take care of the boy. Mr. Rayudu is the only bread winner in the family. Listening to their story I just remembered abhaya and sending my report. I would be grateful if you can kindly assess the case and do the needful and I will be the volunteer for this case ll end. -V Durga Lakshmi, CS Professional Student, Hyderabad

Sirisha is from a middle class family, studying in Mettupally Engineering College in III ECE. She got good marks in inter, but haven’t appeared for EAMCET, which is a common entrance test for Engineering and Medicine. Based on her marks, she got a call from Mettupally College, for admission under management quo-ta. The management agreed to pay fee in terms and she has to pay 40,000/- towards fee every year. Her father works in a cloth store, and managed to pay her fee for two years with aid from various sources. But this year, they couldn’t found a source. They approached abhaya for possible help. Abhaya spoke to college management and asked for possible discount. As she is paying minimum amount, they couldn’t give any further discount, but agreed to give some time to pay fee. Abhaya after interviewing her, granted Rs.10,000/- towards her fee and asked her to join in a part time job immediately. Once she shows her commitment, abhaya can think about paying further. – KSV Sivakrishna, Treasurer (TL – AIS)

Educare Update

1. Whether the present education system is useful for the overall development of a student?

Education System is good. But the stake holders involved in the process are to be lit-tle more epithetic for each other in the system. The Colleges, Management, Teaching/ Non Teaching Staff, Students, Parents all of them need to know education system is the result of their behavior/ life styles. If everyone understands this and contribute their bit to 100%, then automatically the system of education becomes ideal in the country. Systems alone will not develop students. Whatever we say… we will not follow our self, how can we expect students will understand us. Practicing values before they being preached is the most wanted thing in the country.Further, teaching of life skills must be part of regular curriculum today in the system that is missing. Mare acquisition of degrees are not going to provide any result… the degree must be coupled with life skills then alone te student will be able to get the BEST. 2. Moral values, ethics and communication” is the present system providing the stu-dents with such values?

To the large extent… the answer is NO. We forgot “BEING…DOING…TELLING”. Mare telling / teaching won’t in any way inspire the students. One (College/ Management/ Teaching/Non Teaching Staff/ Parents) has to practice before they tell something to students. Then the effect would be positive. Else null effect. We may be heroes in teaching… but ZEROES in life. One has to further understand the true meaning of the following terms in order to know the value of Moral Values, Ethics and communication.

Adhyapaka (the one who study before teaching) Upaadhyaya(the one who sits nearer to pupil and make him to learn)Aacharya (the one who practice and show before teaching to students)Guru (the one who brings light to the hearts of students by infusing life with his ac-tion/ life/ practice) 3. If the education system is right , then why is there an increase in suicide. What are the defects?

Education System is right…but the way it has been giving Education is not right. The

students are not being taught how to lead a life with a character. Syllabus is covered… but the spirit is being missed. Neither students have passion to know nor teachers have time to tell. This is the reason students are becoming very delicate!

Students are supposed to know the issues relevant to Organs/ Body/ Mind/ Hruday-am/ Aathma… there by one will become complete man… 4. Whom do you think the students should get inspired from? What is your message to the students?

Bharath being mother of holy saints in all religions… it is a need of the hour for all of us to make them to be aware of such sacred souls and their life styles. Let them choose their own HERO from ancient Indian epics… they will fi ne solace to their hearts. They will surely become inspired to live a life in full for the benefi t of the country.

5. What is your message is for students?

Dear Students! If you wanted to be a complete personality… remember this formula for life! You must have Excellency in your Own Self/ Family/ Profession/ Society and Spirituality. Then alone you become someone where future generations will look at you to draw inspiration. Else we become lost in the history. - Recorded by Neelam Priya (B.Com) Badruka College of Arts & Commerce, Hyderabad

I visited Sannihita stall at Zorastrian Club, Secunderabad, on Sunday the 16th Feb’13. Ms. V.Usharani, The Director, SANNI-HITA, she explained us about their activities. They train WOM-EN STREET FOOD VENDORS and guide them, realize their legal empowerment, identity and capacity building activities etc.

In this regard they have decided to discuss the various roles of the stakeholders, civil societies, NGOs and the concerned Govt. Departments. They wanted to draw a JOINT ACTION PLAN, with these Organizations.

I tried explaining various activities undertaken by the abhaya Foundation. There was appreciation from the people present at the stall with our concepts of H. E. A. R. T. and the services given by abhaya for the needy. She in turn extended help in the form of inducting young people connected with them to our Home Of Happiness Project, since they are well trained, capable of handling people on their own. She hoped that in due course of time, both abhaya and Sannihita would work more harmoniously for a common goal--SERVING THE SOCIETY.

It may be interesting to note that, there are about 1.5 lakh street vendors. Out of these, 19.68% are food vendors; 17.60% fruit vendors; 14.31%vegeta-ble vendors. Further, 35% sell on push carts; 21% on foot; 17% on footpaths / roads; and 7% on bicycles, to make a living, daily. – EJP Prasad, Coordinator, abhaya RPL, Hyderabad

His brother’s children are now studying de-gree with the support Kodanda. His sister in law does some farm work for their living. He cannot walk by himself. He will earn around Rs. 1200/- Per Month from taking up tuitions in the village.

I went to PERURU village where Mr. Kodan-da lives. He lives in small house 20 x 10 which was built by them with aid given to them during Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure. As explained in his application to ABHAYA his parents were no more, elder brother also expired. Beside his house, his Brother’s daughter lives with her husband who works in 108. When I went there Mr. Kodanda was

sitting on Iron cot with some children sitting around the cot taking tuition. His legs affect-ed and he was unable to move.

Helping, fi xing and serving represent three diff erent way of seeing life. When you help, you see life as weak.

When you fi x, you see life as broken. When you serve you see life as whole. Fixing and helping may be the

work of the ego where as service is the work of soul. Let us all do the best possible service.
