Why STEM?● Improve learning, achievement, and rigor at WHS.
●Serve students interested in STEM fields.
●Provide unique opportunities for students.
●State certification for STEM program.
What have we been up to?
✘2012-13: started planning;site visits; researching STEM certification✘2013-14: first curricular changes; zone partnerships,
university partnerships, SNHS✘2014-15: began implementation of STEM AP Calculus;
facility improvements

✘2015-16: full implementation of differentiated instruction, STEM scheduling, STEM homerooms; first GT Distance Calculus group✘2016-17: adjustments for Engineering; growth of
Science Research; visit from State coordinator; participation in certification review
