DESCRIPTION

We’ll approach WebRTC from a business application perspective. In this session we will explore what it is about the emergent technology called WebRTC - an application programming interface (API) enables browser based, real-time, peer- to- peer voice and video communications with data sharing without plug-ins - has the Information and Communications technology industry in a bit of a quandary. Why Apple, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, Oracle and others have yet to come to agreement on a common approach as to how they’ll harness its power. We’ll get to the bottom line - on how the technology is being utilized in applications today, what the pitfalls are and how this API integrated with JavaScript & HTML5 – will likely usher in a host of next generation communication solutions for enterprises and consumers.

On the coming IT industry consolidation ...

"You are going to see a brutal, brutal consolidation of the IT industry where out of the top fiveplayers, only two or three of us will be meaningful in as quick as five years,"

On growth & survival of companies ...

"Every company in this world has to be realistic ... Out of the private sector companies in thisroom, regardless of where you are in this world, 87% of you will have a major financialshortfall in the next 15 years, and a little over 10% of you will ever come back from it. And ofall the enterprise companies in this world, only a 1/3 of us will exist in a meaningful way in 25years."
