Laptop Logistics• All laptops, power bricks, and backpacks are labeled     

with students names• Laptop distribution was promoted as a celebration.  

o Newspaper coverageo School superintendent shook each student's hand as

they walked across the stage• Laptops were funded by stimulus monies and grants

• 1 Early College• 2 High Schools• 3 Middle Schools• 7 Elementary Schools• 1 Alternative School

 • 9700 Students  • 700 Teachers• 9000 laptops

Timeline• October 2009o 4th grade pilot class

• January 2010  o 1st middle school staff development

• February 2010o 1st phase middle school roll-out

5-6 classrooms at each of the 3 middle schools• March 2010

o All middle school & alternative school students have laptops

• Fall 2010o 3rd to 5th grade at 2 elementary schools o 1 high school (other is undergoing renovations)o 2nd middle school staff development o High School staff development
