Way forward in Industrial Sector 1) Progressive, competitive and Investor friendly

policy based on Explore, Invest and Grow.

2) Attractive Incentives are given to Industries like Pharmaceutical, MSME, Renewable Energy, handicrafts and handlooms.

3) Ease of doing business which includes single window system, doing away with Toll Plaza, subsidies and incentives for land (6000 + acres with land bank availability).

4) Capital Investment Subsidy @ 30% of the cost of plant and machinery.

5) Interest subsidy on working capital @ 3-5%. 6) Subsidy on Diesel Generator Sets 7) Subsidy on Pollution control devices @ 60 % of the cost of device. 8) Air freight subsidies for registered Micro and Small units.

9) Forthcoming Global Investors Summit to be shortly kick started by the government focusing on fourteen sectors to boost manufacturing and employment like Tourism, Film Tourism, Horticulture, Post Harvest Management, Agro and Food processing, Mulberry production, Health, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, IT, Renewable energy, Infrastructure , Real Estate, Handloom, Handicrafts, and Education.

10) Two IT parks have also been identified.

11)Industrial State of the art parks to be developed.

Power Generation J&K has a power generation capacity of 20,000MTs out of which only 16% is being exploited. The strategies and priorities of the government are:

• To establish new generation capacity in a time

bound manner. • Provision of long term financial arrangements. • Renewable sources of energy. • Creation of inter and intra transmission

system • Reduction in T&D losses • Increase in the tariff revenue • Creation of new transmission corridors • Investment policy in PPP Mode • Creation of Smart Grid Infrastructure and

provision of Joint Ventures

HORTICULTURE: It is the backbone of J&K economy with an annual turnover of 1200 crores giving employment to 23 lakh people.Apple production turnover is 20 lakh MTs with turnover of 5000cr

- Introduction of improved varieties and mechanization, etc. - Technological support and awareness - Establishment of Fruit Mandies - Enhancement of Cold storage facilities - Marketing support and export corridors - Policy initiatives and Research extension - Strengthening of irrigation infrastructure - Conservation and dissemination of germ plasm - Popularization of Organic farming

Tourism: Tourism is the largest service Industry in J&K which constitutes 15% of SGDP

1) Pilgrim, Adventure, Boarder, Eco, Golf and Film Tourism 2) Bread and Breakfast Scheme has been launched recently where locals will be roped to promote tourism by offering local food, shelter and tourist guides etc. 3) Up gradation of Tourism Infrastructure 4) Adventure Sports & Entertainment parks

Handicrafts and Handlooms There are 2.5 lakh artisans and J&K handicrafts are world famous for their attractive designsand high quality craftsmanship. Some of the initiatives for its development are: 1) Export promotion of Handicrafts 2) organizing Festivals, exhibitions and Melas 3) Subsidy scheme for craftsmen and artisans has been launched 4) Skill and Infrastructure development programmes for artisans and craftsmen 5) Promotion of Basohli art and minature paintings

Employment Generation: Unemployment in J&K is more than the Nation rate of 13.2% 1) Up scaling of existing programmes and schemes like; SKEWPY, Seed Capital Funds Scheme, Youth startups, Women entrepreneurship programme for Self Help Groups, etc.

Mission Jal shakti • Conservation of water bodies. • Fodder cultivation • Skill development of unskilled labour under

MGNREGS. • strengthening Social audit • PMAY to be strengthening by providing matching

share by the State Governments. • Convergence with SDG.s • Translating SHG,s into producer groups and their

quality transition. • PMGSY to connect to Agricultural markets for

livelihoods.
