•Check out books for two weeks

•No food or drinks in the library

•Bring a pass during lunch

•The library is for quiet study – whisper!

Computer Use

•Students working on school assignments have priority

•Sign in with your school login/password. Do not share passwords.

•Save to a flash drive or your folder on the student H drive.

•Use computers appropriately – you will lose your privileges if you abuse them

Visit the library to:

•Look up books•Use databases•Find information online•Use reference materials

Search WebCat

1. Start on the school home page2. Click “Library” to find WebCat

3. Type the title, author or subject, then click the appropriate button

OR type any keyword and hit the return key

4. Scroll down to find out whether the book is at your school

5. Find fiction by the first three letters of the author’s last name

6. Find nonfiction by the Dewey Decimal number, then the first three letters

•Evaluate information -- don’t believe everything you read

•Compare multiple sources

•Always cite your sources (Easybib.com, etc.)

School pays for access – has info you can’t get free on the web

Edited/fact checked, so often more reliable than websites

Ask library staff for passwords to use from home

Use your library card to access public library research tools
