Article 1 “Boards Get Brains, Chalk Vanishes.” Summary 1 of 2.

This is an article over Smart Boards in the classroom.

This article is saying that the presence of Smart Boards in elementary classrooms is increasing making this tool a need not just a want.

“It [Smart Boards] really helps with motivation…as a platform for encouraging group work, its amazing”, class teacher Eliza Bang says.

Article 1 “Boards Get Brains, Chalk Vanishes.” Reflection

I think that Smart Boards are a necessity in the classroom. They enhance the learning experience for the students. Smart Boards help motivate students to learn they are vital tool to help students to learn. I have substituted in a corporation that has this technology in every classroom and all the teachers say that they use their Smart Board on a daily basis. The teachers say that the Smart Board helps to keep the students focus during instruction so that they can learn more.

Article 2 “ Using Technology in the Classroom: Teacher Tube, Online Resource for Educators”

Teacher Tube is much like the popular site YouTube only this site is for posting educational resources.

Teacher Tube receives submissions from educators and administrators across the world.

The site administrators are constantly reviewing submissions to make sure that all submissions are educational or education related.

Great way to find lesson plans and videos that enhance what teachers are presenting in class.

Article 2 Reflection

I think that the use of Teacher Tube in the classroom will be very beneficial to the students. The teacher will be able to access videos that pertain to what they are teaching without having to go through all the junk on YouTube that is not pertinent to what they are teaching. The use of Teacher Tube is also better than YouTube especially since many schools have blocked YouTube to all computers due to inappropriate content on the site.

Article 3 “Integrating Technology Into the Classroom” Summary

A few years ago the internet was something that few people had heard of let alone worked with.

More and more schools are being wired with internet to allow access to all students and teachers. Schools are going wireless to allow for portable laptops to be introduced to students. Students laptops will be wirelessly networked to classroom printers providing endless possibilities of use.

Article 3 “Integrating Technology Into the Classroom” Summary

Teachers can create online websites for the classroom, where they can put online tests. The online tests would be automatically graded once submitted by the students.

Article 3 Reflection

I feel that the integration of technology benefits both the teacher and the student. It benefits the student by letting them learn more, be more motivated, and excited to learn. Integrating technology benefits the teacher because it provides new and exciting resources to engage their students in learning.

Conclusion

I feel that Smart Boards, Teacher Tube, and integration of technology in general into the classroom is a great thing. Smart Boards have endless uses and once teachers get one they will find new and creative ways to teach with it to benefit their students. With Teacher Tube teachers will be able to provide an extra resource quickly to their lesson to aide in student learning. With the integration of technology like the internet in the classroom it will make learning a new cool thing for students while still meeting state standards.
