OUR STORYVolunteer Prince George is a recruitment and referral agency serving Prince George and area since 1991.
We provide support and services to volunteers, organizations, local and surrounding communities.
We have 6 board members and 1 staff member.

STRATEGIC PLANNINGIn November 2017 we held our first Strategic Planning session lead by professional facilitator Bill Quinn.

POSITIVE CHANGESOur VPG office has been reorganized

ASSURANCELast year we also worked on update our financial records
We had a financial review completed by KPMG
We have updated our accounting software to SAGE and are in the process of recording the 2018/2019 fiscals into the new system
BUILDING CAPACITY Our “Volunteer Directory” located on our website, is where members can add, edit and update their own organizations volunteer opportunities and events has been a huge success.
The Directory is accessible to all who visit
our site.
There are 185 volunteer opportunities
on our website.
ACCESSIBILITYWe have set up a resource centre in our office so people without computer access can browse the community volunteer opportunities and events.
We have also launched our online volunteer application which gives our members direct access to connect with volunteers
CELEBRATEOn behalf of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, Volunteer Prince George hosted the annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at the Festival of the Trees.
This event honours community volunteer managers who work tirelessly to ensure our local volunteers are managed successfully
We were also a proud sponsor of the Volunteer Lounge at the Festival of Trees.

Work with UNBC, CNC and community high schools to engage, educate and excite students to volunteer.
CARIBOO WILDFIRESFrom August 10th to August 27th, Volunteer PG managed the Volunteer Centre for the Cariboo Wildfires.
The Volunteer Centre was located at our office at 3rd Avenue office.
The Centre operated with 2 full time
and 1 part time staff members.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTUtilizing our experience from 2017, we were
able to set up our volunteer centre in one day.
With over 3500 volunteers in our database from last year’s wildfires, we quickly recruited and scheduled volunteers for the Emergency
Evacuation Centre.
STATISTICS147 returning volunteers registered with VPG111 volunteers received special ESS training28 volunteer shifts were filled during the wildfiresOn average 20 volunteers were deployed daily6 hour shifts 17 hours a day in peak days were scheduledApprox 1450 hours were filled by volunteers
WORKING TOGETHER
• Acquire funding for volunteer software program.
• Develop partnership with the City of PG to solicit, recruit train and retain volunteers for future emergency services.
