Investiture Ceremony
KADAM
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2019-20 was held on 18th July. The junior school council
members were officially conferred with power and position through the administration of the oath. The ceremonial
pinning of badges was done by the school Principal Mr. Vincent Ashish Moses and Junior School Head, Ms. Sonia
Shamihoke. They congratulated the council members and motivated them to fulfill their duties to the best of their
abilities.
Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture Ceremony was held to appoint the Students Council and cabinet of the year 2019-20. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest Dr S. Laxmi Devi, the Honorary Director , Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Oriented Programme, University Of Delhi. The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Principal Mr. Vincent Ashish Moses. This was followed by an obeisance to the Almighty in the form of a Saraswati Vandana and a motivational group song. The school badges were pinned on to the office bearers by the Chief Guest. The Secretary General administered the oath of allegiance. The Cabinet, spearheaded by Secretary General Bhavya Jain and Deputy Secretary General Kshitij Jain, pledged to uphold the prestige of the school and to discharge their duties with full integrity.
Leadership Training Programme
The Leadership Training Camp for senior school cabinet and council members was conducted on 27th July,2019. It focused on various activities like understanding of the self, communication, teamwork and goal setting which are essential areas for becoming a good leader and to overcome challenges.

helped them to plan, strategise and
execute the given tasks. The event saw
great enthusiasm among the children who
eagerly participated in all the activities.
Leadership Training programme
Sanskrit Day
Sanskrit Diwas was celebrated in the School to commemorate the mother of all languages. The students of
classes VII to IX performed shlokas, songs, rap and play exploring endless vistas of Sanskrit language. The
programme was enthralling and a rich learning experience
The Reading Programme was organized for reading enthusiasts of Class V during summer vacation from May 15th to
May 19th, 2019 in the school. The aim of the Programme was to cultivate love for reading among students.
The students participated in a storytelling session and were introduced to reference sources such as encyclopedia,
dictionary etc. They also got an opportunity to make their own magazines. An interactive quiz was also conducted.
The teams participated with great enthusiasm and skillfully answered the questions asked. The audience also got a
chance to participate every time the teams answered incorrectly.
Independence Day
The School celebrated Independence Day with utter enthusiasm and gaiety.
The programme started off with the National Flag hoisting followed by a
patriotic song composed and performed by students of V Shivalik. The
students took the audience through India’s 72 years journey of independence.
The dance performance by junior students on song “Ae Vatan” captivated
audience’s interest. The show finally came to a beautiful rest with a speech by
Ms. Monica Goswami who talked about the real meaning of independence in
an individual’s life.
Founders’ Day
The 16th Founder’s Day of The Srijan School was celebrated on 15th July, 2019. The achiever students in
academics and co-scholastic areas were rewarded for their outstanding performances. ‘The Srijan Award for
Outstanding Improvement’; sponsored by Ms. Anjali Arora, Ex. Junior School Head; was given to Ronit Pahuja, a
student of class V. The award for ‘Excellence in Mathematics’; which is given in the memory of Prof. Jyoti Lal Jain,
a founding member of the school’s academic council; was given to Shivam Madan of class XII. The event is a red
flag day for the Srijanites which will keep on inspiring and motivating them in future.
Earth Day To mark the importance of Earth day, the students
of class IX-C presented the morning assembly
followed by skit on theme ‘Save Species’. Group
discussions and quiz were conducted in all
classes. The students participated enthusiastically
and were sensitized about its significance in our
life.
Teachers’ Day Celebration
On the occasion of Teachers Day all students collaborated to put up a spectacular event to express their love and gratitude towards their teachers. The preparations began well in advance and it was heartening to see the senior students mentoring their juniors. All the students collaborated to organize games and entertaining performances for their mentors. The students also decorated the staff rooms, foyer and reception area giving the whole school a festive look. The occasion was a gift wrapped in love and respect for the teachers.
An organization ‘Livings Farms’ (Bhoomika Campaign) initiated Kitchen gardening in the school premises. The seedlings of cauliflower, brinjal, green chilly were placed in pots and the seeds of sponge gourd, bottle gourd, spinach, coriander, lady finger were sown by the students of class IX C and UNESCO club students.

Anveshan organized by ITIHAAS The preliminary round for the Inter-School Music Competition, Anveshan, organized by Itihaas, was held at the
Srijan School on 19th August, 2019. Thirteen teams across different age groups from seven schools participated
in the competition. The teams had to research, write a poem and present it with music. All the teams, including
Srijan, studied the theme of Colors through multiple perspectives and presented it in an interesting manner. The
judges appreciated the performances of participants. They also applauded the efforts of the volunteers from
The Srijan School in making the event a success.

by the expert.
Workshops On Good Touch and Bad Touch
Workshops on good touch and bad touch were organised for Nursery and KG and class I students. The students of
Class 1 actively participated in an engaging workshop on Good Touch and Bad touch with Ms Neerja, school
counselor . With the help of numerous videos, pictures, character play etc. the students were explained how to
identify “bad touch” or other “uncomfortable behaviours”. They learnt about “Safe circle” and were also given
instructions on how one should react or respond in an uncomfortable situation.
Growing Up Session for Class V
A growing up session was organised for
Class V students to aid the young
students experiencing changes in their
bodies, emotions and relationships.
Numerous discussions facilitating
various fruitful activities were taken up
with the young students. The teachers
and counsellor conducted it in a
sensitive and a friendly way.
Water Conservation Session by Swecha
A life skills session on theme ' Caring for me and
my Environment' was held on 21 August, 2019.
Over 160 students of class IV attended the
session. Resource persons from Swecha, an NGO
involved in environment action, conducted the
interactive session using songs, videos,
presentations and fun filled dialogues talking
about water conservation. They also talked about
River Yamuna, Neela Haus Lake revival model and
over 600 water bodies of Delhi .They guided the
students about what they can do to help in
conserving water.
Story Telling Session
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) conducted a
puppet show for classes III, IV and V on 11 September,
2019. The puppet show tried to inculcate good manners
and etiquettes among the students and create disciplined
Metro commuters for the future.

and KG classes by their teachers.

students of KG in their respective classes.
Story Enactment by Teachers
On 12th and 13th September 2019, a story telling session
for classes I, II and III was conducted by Ms.Nikita Kashyap
in the School Auditorium. The students enjoyed the
impersonations of different characters by the storyteller
and seemed to be transported into an imaginary world.
The lit up faces and mesmerized looks spoke volumes
about the interest it had generated amongst the students.
Hot Air Balloon Paper Craft
A kitchenette activity was conducted for students of
class III on 24 April, 2019. The students enjoyed making
and eating yummy and tangy Bhelpuri, a savory made
out of puffed rice, vegetables like carrot, cucumber,
onion, tomato and ground nuts. The students also
enhanced their vocabulary by learning the names of
ingredients used and cooking terms.
Folder Making
Folder making activity was held for Grade
V on 24 April 2019. The students made
beautiful folders using handmade sheets
and other decorative materials like
sequence, mirrors, artificial flowers etc.
Their imagination and creativity was well
exhibited through the activity.
CCA Corner
Lip Smacking Bhelpuri
On 10th April 2019, students of class II did beautiful
hot air balloon paper craft. On the cutout of the
balloon, they pasted their photographs and wrote
few lines about themselves. The students used
crayons and drew colourful patterns on their
balloons.
Special Assembly KG Elephant
A special assembly was conducted by the children
of KG Elephant on 29th August 2019. They happily
sang their favourite animal songs while enacting
their sounds.
Visits
A trip to Bal Bhavan at Mandi House,
Delhi was organized for the students of
class II on 12th September, 2019. They
had fun as they explored Bal Bhawan
and enjoyed doing activities like pottery,
craft work, carpentry and painting .They
also visited the mini zoo and learnt
about the food habits of birds and their
adaptations. The main attraction was the
popular mini train ride. Hopping on to
the train, the students took a joyride
around the place. It was a wonderful
educational trip filled with fun,
discovery, energy and interesting facts.
An annual excursion is organized for students for
every academic session. During 2019-20 session,
classes X, XI and XII went to Jim Corbett, Bhimtal-
Nainital and Shimla- Kufri respectively.
A host of activities were undertaken as a part of
trips which acted as a catalyst to think out of the
box and broaden the outlook of the students.
These trips extend a much needed break from
the hectic daily schedule and provided an
opportunity for the facilitators and learners to
bond with each other.
It was a fun filled trip away from the school and
home where students were closer to the
environment and gained a totally different
perspective towards life.

The entrepreneurship students of class XI ran a food stall as a part of their ‘Mini Business activity’ on 4th August 2018 (PTM
day) .The main objective of the activity was to acquaint the students with the dynamics of managing the entire activity on their
own including capital contribution, product idea and development, purchasing of raw materials, promoting the venture,
maintaining cleanliness and discipline on the day of the event.

CFE Sessions
Model United Nation
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different
countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. The Srijan School,
Model Town organized its maiden Model United Nations Conference TSSMUN on 16th -17th May 2019. It was an Intra school
event wherein 110 students participated from classes 7 -11 in various committees of the United Nations. There were two
committees of UN and one Indian committee (UNGA, UNSC, AIPPM) where different agendas concerning the world problems
from terrorism to disarmament and back home about the performance of NDA government was discussed. The Organizing
team of TSSMUN worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success and special contribution and support from Executive
Board members- Geetansh Popli, Yashas Chauhan, Shlok Bhatia, Dhruv Gumber, Kshitiz Jain, Naman Bindal, Bhavya Jain, Sakar
Kharbanda, Sahil Malhotra, Nishtha Juneja was appaluadable. The BEST DELEGATE in each committee were:

The students of class VI visited ‘Nehru Museum and Planetarium’ at Teen Murthi Bhavan where they watched a documentary film . The dome shaped theatre and the special effects made the stars, planets and constellations come alive for the children. Post the movie, the children also visited the museum where they learnt about history of the Indian independence movement. Overall it was a very informative and enriching experience for the children. The students of class VII visited National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan. They visited various galleries namely ‘Science and Technology, Fun with Science, Prehistoric Life, Human Biology, Information Revolution and Sardar Patel Gallery. Various scientific concepts were demonstrated to increase students’ curiosity. The students also saw a short holographic film titled ‘Our Body Systems’. It was an informative, engaging and enriching experience. Class VIII students visited ‘Mother Dairy’ factory as a part of an educational excursion where they were shown videos showcasing the establishment of Mother Dairy and its working. The students were also told the difference between packaged milk and homogenized milk along with the benefits. Class X visited the ‘Indian Parliament’ where they had a golden opportunity to see a Parliament session. They also visited Parliament museum where they were briefed about the democratic heritage of India. The students of ‘UNESCO Club’ went to Naini Lake, Model Town to understand more about water harvesting and conservation. They were sensitized about the importance of local water bodies in eco-system. They also observed habitats near water bodies and learnt about the importance of cleanliness. The students of ‘Community Outreach Club’ visited 'Kiran Livelihood Project' (a unit of Shalom) Adarsh Nagar. The students helped in packaging of handicrafts prepared by families of patients suffering from HIV, AIDS, Cancer, Neurological diseases. The packaged products were sold during PTM to help the families. Class XII Psychology students went to VIMHANS (a mental health Institute). Through an interactive session they were given exposure about the various fields and career paths in psychology. It broadened students’ perspectives, simultaneously eradicating various misconceptions about such institutes. The students of Class XII visited Reserve Bank of India. It was indeed learning and enriching experience for all. The students received a memento from RBI
EDUCATIONAL VISITS
VISIT TO CERVANTES INSTITUTE The students of class VIII visited Instituto Cervantes (Spanish Cultural Centre) to gain exposure and learn more
about Spanish culture and language. A quiz contest DELE was conducted to test the knowledge of students.
(DELE exam certifies the language competence of school children and is internationally recognized in line with
the specifications of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.) The students had a T-shirt
block printing activity based on icons of Latin American countries. An interactive session was conducted by
Professor Sergio. It was an enriching exposure for the students.
During the visit four students were given scholarship from Instituto Cervantes of worth Rs 16000. They will appear in DELE exam for level A1 which will be conducted in the month of November.
