Voicethread
Web 2.0 in the classroom
What’s great about voicethread?
Free! No limits on participation, 50 pages per voicethread on free accounts
As many identities as you want – I have one for each child in my class
Great for all ages – children’s spoken ideas are often more detailed than written answers
Alternatively ideas/comments can be typed. You can even record video footage
Voicethread is easy to use. It contains simple easy to follow tutorials showing you how to use all the features on voicethread and a help button for if you get stuck
A voicethread is private until you make them public – when they are made public you can choose to allow or not allow others to make comments

… students learn best when teachers:
• create a supportive learning environment;
• encourage reflective thought and action;
• enhance the relevance of new learning;
• facilitate shared learning;
• make connections to prior learning and experience;
• provide sufficient opportunities to learn;
• inquire into the teaching–learning relationship.
The Revised NZ curriculum states that…
Voicethread
provides these
opportunities
