ABOUT US

We are a New York based Creative Agency like none other in the industry, with a reputation as a major creative resource. We’re a cross between an expert branding team, creative matchmakers and artist management. Years of cultivated alliances and long-standing relationships in the creative field have contributed to our success as a creative “hub” that we are today.

During the past 20 years we have provided clients with thoughtfully curated creative solutions and have provided sea-soned knowledge and guidance in brand marketing, design, advertising, licensing, publishing, and public relations. Our multi dimensional experience brings great insight and exper-tise into the mix. Our talent pool includes illustrators, photog-raphers, art directors, copywriters, creative directors, product and packaging designers, web designers, social media spe-cialists, marketing strategists, boutique creative agencies and public relations companies. The brands we work with range from established international brands, Fortune 500 compa-nies, to innovative start-ups. Each project is uniquely tailored to the client’s individual needs and circumstances.

HISTORY

We opened our doors in the fall of 1995 with offices on Spring Street in New York City with a new vision of the future. We were the first and only agency at that time representing inde-pendent art directors, copywriters, and the many individual components of a traditional agency team. This quickly proved itself to be the zeitgeist of the time, as more amorphous re-lationships between talent, agencies and clients become an optimal way of pairing the best creative talent with the most compelling corporate campaigns and identities. A few years later, our first illustrator, Izak Zenou, joined the agency for representation and brought an unexpected addition to what is today, a signification roster of talented illustrators and photog-raphers.

We represent the top echelon of brand name talent, and un-earth fashion illustrators, photographers and copywriters you’ve never heard of who are tapped by some of the worlds leading creative directors.

As the artists’ careers blossom we use our branding and man-agement skills to expand their reach. For famed illustrator Izak Zenou, it meant creating a signature brand and licensing pro-gram. When Izak first joined Traffic, he was an unknown artist and through our partnership became one of the most success-ful commercial illustrators today. We parlayed his talent into the creation of the IZAK brand. Today IZAK products are sold in 15,000 retail doors in over 30 countries on 4 continents with over $20 million in retail sales. It’s pretty exciting! Key stores in the US include Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Sephora, and Target.

Meanwhile, despsite our success and reach, we hold true to our vision to remain a highly distilled boutique agency that brings exceptional talent together with innovative brands. As we do this we continue to learn, explore and develop keeping a fresh view for the ever evolving future.

HISTORY

TRAFFIC ILLUSTRATORS + PHOTOGRAPHERS

Our work lies in breaking down your brand DNA so that we can provide intelligent and creative solutions to help you maximize your brand’s true potential.

We ask questions. Who are you? What’s your brand story? What makes you unique? How do you stand out from the crowd? What are your stumbling blocks? Who is your audience? What is your brand voice? Is it consistent across all media? How are you speaking to and engaging your market? Are you reaching them?

Once we have the complete story and are clear about your goals—we research, inves-tigate, and analyze every aspect of your communications—both visual and voice. We identify and study your competition, the overall market, as well as over-riding trends. Through our unique Visual Research methodology, honed through years of study and experience, we help you define who you are, where you need to go, how to succeed, and we create the roadmap for you to get there. Your success is our success.

Traffic also produced an animated motion video with Davies + Starr for the publication of My Design Life

book, based on the very pages of the book and the objects inside.

Hunter Douglas, a dominant player in the worldwide window shade sector, sought our help to re-position their brand through their automated, pre-programable window shade product, Powerview Motorization. As new companies were emerging with similar technology, the category was begin-ning to be absorbed by these more innovative companies, HD needed to work quickly to maintain their leadership position in the market. HD created the Pebble, a fun and beautifully design remote control for Powerview as a way to enhance positioning of the company as modern and innovative. The design of the Pebble was very successful, however, the visual materials and advertising were outdated and did not present the product in an innovative way.

We started by creating an animated video for the Pebble, which was used to launch Powerview Motorization to the press and was used on their web-site and social media. The 15 and 45 second animated video was created by our photographer Davies + Starr. The fresh and fun video was extremely success. We then explored a new voice for the ads, which was more smart and direct in it’s approach. We focused on creating a more modern presen-tation with the focus on the Pebble and the overall functionality and ben-efits.
