I’m afraid to give speeches. There are many roles to be played in a meeting,

speaker is but one. Dip your toe in the water by participating as a timer, grammarian, or table topics participant.

You don’t have to give a speech until you’re ready. Your Mentor will work with you.

I don’t like evaluating people or being evaluated.

I don’t like being evaluated on something that I know I’m not good at.

The evaluation process provides only constructive feedback. Listening to analyze or evaluate is a skill that most of us need

to practice. You will get more comfortable with receiving and giving

evaluations once you start practicing that skill. The only way to get better at something is to practice!

Other speakers in the club don’t seem to be as skilled as I am, so what can I gain by joining?
