Key Successes• Our investment in reading support and intervention is paying off. Students receiving our targeted

reading intervention showed an average of +2.67 grade level growth in reading as measured by the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI).

• Our focus on supporting student success in math is working.

• On the Smarter Balanced Math Assessment, the passing rates for the class of 2020 (current 7th

graders) increased by 17 points (56% spring 2015 to 73%spring 2016).

• On the Smarter Balanced Math Assessment overall, 82% of Tillicum students met or exceeded the proficiency standard.

• Our focus on including and supporting students with disabilities in the general education setting is having a positive impact. On both the Smarter Balanced English Language Arts and Math Assessments we saw double digit gains in proficiency rates for students with IEPs (+15% and +13% respectively).

• Restructuring our student disciplinary systems to focus on positive interventions and behavior support has reduced school suspensions by 90% from 2014-2015, and also reduced detentions by 60% from 2014-2015.
