Thorngate LivingThe Thorngate Living brand was created in 2012 by Hillier Consulting for Thorngate Churcher Trust, a progressive not-for-profit provider of sheltered housing and residential care founded in 1868.

Developing the brand, we have extended its application to a new website, staff uniforms and badging, business stationery, street and estate signage and several marketing and print advertising campaigns.

Hillier Consulting produces the Trust’s annual report, and a suite of corporate publications. And we publish a range of magazines and newsletters for residents. Recruitment and retention is of critical importance in the care home sector and we manage the Trust’s online and print recruitment advertising.

As well as launching and publishing the chief executive’s blog we drafted the Trust’s corporate social media policy.

In March 2017 we updated the Thorngate Living brand alongside our new corporate identity for the re-structured Trust in preparation for an expansion programme and the building of new sheltered accommodation.

We have updated the website, applying the new corporate identity and refreshed branding whilst introducing improved functionality. All on budget and on time.

a new gas main in front of Goyda

House. The work is not related

to the Goyda House extension

project, but it does represent an

upgrade to the Trust’s energy

infrastructure. A trench will be

excavated in front of Goyda

House and the gas engineers will

be installing a new mains supply

pipe. Any disruption to residents

should be limited to a brief period

in May. And of course, we will

be reinstating any landscaping

affected by the excavations.

Options for new sheltered

housing scheme explored

At a Trust board meeting in

February the decision was

taken to launch a bid for further

grant funding for the Melrose

Gardens site. This new bid is

likely to centre on the building

of a brand new scheme. As

yet, the development is still in

the exploratory stages and no

planning application has yet

been submitted. This represents

exciting news for the Trust and

will be the fi rst new scheme to be

developed since Russell Churcher

Court in 1993.

The arrival of spring sees the

start of a series of exciting new

improvements and development

work at the Trust. The most

immediate of which is the project

to extend Goyda House to convert

the bedsits to new one bedroom

fl ats. The work has already started

and you will no doubt have seen

the project signboard on the wall

at the end of Clare House.

Those amongst you affected by

the improvements will be advised

as early as possible about moving

to your allocated fl ats for the

duration of the work. To ensure

contractors can work quickly and

easily a limited number of parking

spaces will be allocated to them.

Learning from the improvements

carried out at Russell Churcher

Court last summer, we will be

monitoring the contractors

closely to ensure minimum

inconvenience to residents.
