Dear Church Family, We were all saddened to hear that Pastor David Park and his family would be leaving Raleigh and moving to Cincinnati, Ohio last month. Over the past year and a half, we have come to know and love them as part of our own church family! Pastor David came to us in the fall of 2015 to ask if Ephesus would open its doors to a new congrega-tion of Korean Methodist Christians under his lead-ership. Cary Love Methodist Church (CLMC) had been born about a year before that, but they needed a new place in which to worship, fellowship, and minister. Cary Love Church began meeting here that December. Very quickly we learned just how dedicated to Jesus Christ these new friends were. They met every Tuesday through Friday morning at 6:00 for prayer. That is not a mistake—6:00 am, not pm! David’s wife Anna Kim led a vibrant ministry called Chil-dren’s Story Time every Thursday and Friday from 10 am till Noon. Whenever they celebrated birth-days, they always shared a plate of pizza, fruit, cake, and other Korean treats with Lisa Baker and me! Their children, Rebekah, Ruach (Hebrew for spirit), and Ryan became so very dear to us. They attended our Vacation Bible School last August and after that, whenever I saw Ryan, he would thrust his index finger in the air and shout the VBS theme for that week: “Follow Him!” Follow Him, indeed, Ryan Park—you and all your family! We will miss you! The Park family’s new ad-dress: 7909 Village Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45242. CLMC will have a new pastor soon and plans to re-sume meeting here this month.

Baptists On Mission Rebuild Day Trips each Tuesday
We are now going each week to help in Goldsboro. The van leaves the church campus at 7:00 am, stops along the way at Bojangles, and returns that evening, time depending on a supper stop. For more infor-mation contact John Bentley at 919-280-6159 or Ken Cook at 919-796-8716. This is a wonderful opportunity to join in Kingdom work as we seek to be witnesses for Christ in our Judea (Acts 1:8).
Parent/Child Dedication … A beautiful Mother’s Day tradition at Ephesus is the recognition and blessing of families with children born during the past twelve months. This is not infant baptism, nor is it merely about the child. Instead, it is about thanking God for the blessing of children and dedicating ourselves as the church to equip and encourage parents to raise children in the love and knowledge of Christ. Families wishing to participate in Parent/Child Dedication on Mother’s Day, May 14, please contact the church office by Monday May 8: 919-851-1928, or lisab@ephesusbaptistchurch.com.
Are you ready to see your fixer upper? These famous words are now synonymous with the dynamic husband-and-wife team Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of HGTV’s Fixer Upper. As this question fills the air-waves with anticipation, their legions of fans continue to multiply and ask a differ-ent series of questions, like—Who are these people? What’s the secret to their success? And is Chip actually that funny in real life? By renovating homes in Wa-co, Texas, and changing lives in such a winsome and engaging way, Chip and Joanna have become more than just the stars of Fixer Upper, they have become America’s new best friends.
The Magnolia Story is the first book from Chip and Joanna, offering their fans a detailed look at their life together. From the very first renovation project they ever tackled together, to the project that nearly cost them everything; from the childhood memories that shaped them, to the twists and turns that led them to the life they share on the farm today.

Missions Night - 6:30 PM Shawn Wright with Elam Minis-tries will share what you will never hear on the nightly news—the church is growing at a rate and in a place you would never suspect. The mission of Elam is to strengthen and expand the church in Iran and beyond. Elam was founded in 1990 by senior Iranian church leaders with a vi-sion to serve the growing church in the Iran region. From the be-ginning, Elam's passion was to train and equip Iranian Christians to reach and disciple their coun-trymen. Since then, Elam has seen many years of God's faith-fulness. By God's grace, the min-istry is growing and is being used to strengthen and expand the church in the Iran region in a sig-nificant way. Iranians today are seen as the most open Muslim people to the Gospel in the world. More have become Christians since the rev-olution in 1979 than the previous 1,300 years put together!
A love offering will be received to cover Shawn’s travel expenses and to support Elam Ministries.
