Welcome to Bahama Bucks! You are joining us in our busiest time of the year. It is important that you are prepared to succeed as part of our Snow crew. This manual is created to help benefit your success and teach you your responsibilities here at Bahama bucks.

This manual is designed to instruct employee skills to handle snow crew tasks. It is created to ensure that you can do things on your own without assistance from other employees.

Throughout this job you will continue to learn skills and information, but after reading this manual you will know how to:

How to answer the phone in a correct manner

You may think answering the phone is easy, but it’s quite difficult. Many customers call with questions needing to be answered or also ordering a delicious party pack. This being so as an employee we need to know how to answer the phone in a sufficient manner.

What to say when phone rings

Always address the customer with thank you for calling Bahama bucks, then address your first name so they know who they are dealing with, and last you will say how may I help you today. Example; “Bahama Bucks this is Anthony how may I help you today.”

Responsibility 6 # 1 policy never leave the customer

unsatisfied, the happier the customer the better it is for our business.

Angry customers will appear on the phone at times. When this happens act calm and try to persuade the customer never get rowdy back at the customer. If nothing is working and they still remain mad that is when you get a high level employee to take care of the situation.

How we dress is a main responsibility here at Bahama Bucks’. All snow crew members are expected to come to work in Bahama Bucks attire, other shirts, hats, or sweat shirts are prohibited. You coming to work without Bahama Bucks attire causes time out of the manager’s job to write down that you don’t have your proper clothing, causing time taken away from the customer.

Every employee gets a chance to have a day off from work, Bahama Bucks is very flexible when it comes to needing time off of work, but there is a certain way you have to ask off.

1. Confirm with the day you need off with the scheduling manager in case they need you that day.

2. Go in the back and hanging on the wall will be the take-off calendar, you will sign the day you need off.

3. If the day you take off has more than 4 people’s names signed up then you will have to write a reason of why you need this day off if it is for an emergency then you will notify the manager know and they will work with you.

There are 57 types of flavors and 3 ways customers are able to order them super sour, regular, or no sugar.

Super Sour Flavors - Super sour flavors you will add 6 oz. of concentrate of the flavor that needs to be made.-And the rest of bottle filled with sugar water

- Regular flavors you will add 3 oz. of concentrate of flavor that needs to be made.-And the rest of bottle filled with sugar water

No Sugar Flavors - No sugar flavors you will add 3 oz. of concentrate of flavor that needs to be made.-And the rest of the bottle with sugar free base

How long to pour flavor on the snow Every size cup is different so it is very important that you remember how many seconds to pour for each size, if not the customer will be unhappy when they bite into their snow cone and realize there is white spots because there is not enough flavor.

Safety Tip -Wear gloves while shaving ice can become very cold and numb hand.

Baby 4 oz.

Pour the flavor chosen by the customer for 2 seconds.

Medium 12 oz.

Pour flavor chosen by the customer for 4 seconds.

How to change a shaver blade Safety -Be very carefully with shaving blade it is very sharp.

When it is time to change the blade you will recognize the shaved ice beginning to come hard shaved ice rather than smooth and soft.

Step 1- Unscrew, screws beneath blade.

Step 2- Make sure to wear gloves, then take blade off very gently, this blade may be dull, but it is still sharp enough to cut you.

Step 3- Take old blade and replace it with new blade.

Step 4- Take the new blade and gently place it on the rack for blade.

Step 5- Align screw holes and begin screwing in blade.

Step 6- Place block on shaver and see if the blade has been placed on right, if so the ice will come out nice and smooth.

Many people that are first hired have trouble with the coffee maker, and it can get confusing on how to make coffee when there is a big rush, here are the steps:

Step 1- Line the coffee basket with a paper coffee filter.

Step 2- Put the ground coffee in a filter, and close the coffee basket.

Step 3- Pour the water in the water reservoir of the coffee maker and close the lid.

Step 4- Make sure the coffee pitcher is in the right place.

Step 5- Press the Start button on the coffee maker.

Step 6- pour Bahama Bucks magnificent coffee in our island coffee cup!

• Wash strainers

• Wash bottles caps: make sure none mold and drain water.

• Wash windows: inside and out

• Wash ice cream scoops

• Wash all mats and carpet: at the door don’t forget to bring them in!

• Start wash cycle on coffee machine

• Blenders: add 3-4.5 oz. of water, two drops of soap, and drain water.

Clean • Clean surfaces: use all-purpose spray with green towel

• Clean cutting board: use hot water and green towel (under and top)

• Clean off shaver and shaver tables

• Clean bathrooms

• Take out trash and clean part of trash cans

• Mop floors: don’t leave sticky use all-purpose spray.

Safety -Stay cautious of wet floors, floors can get extremely wet from shaving or after an employee has mopped.

How many days in advance should I take off?

You should take off at least one week before the schedule is made.

Where is the calendar located?

The calendar located in the back of the store hanging on the wall to the right.

What do I do if I’m late?

If you are late you have to sign a sheet of paper saying why you were late and what time you clocked in and stick it in the cash register.

What happens when I forget my hat or shirt?

If you forget your hat or shirt you have to let a manager know and they will write down what you forgot then you will you have to pay for a new hat/shirt.
