To Whom It May Concern

Surbhi Verma, a 2nd

year B.Tech. (Engineering Physics) student of Delhi Technological

University, worked under my guidance this summer for a period of 40 days from 16/06/2013 -

26/07/2013 on a project entitled "A table top experiment to make flowing soap films". In this

project she developed a simple vertical arrangement to make a stable flowing soap film based on

designs available in the literature. She investigated the suitability of various soap and surfactant

solutions for the soap films. At the end we were able to come up with a compact and easy-to-set-

up lab demonstration that could be used to show the properties of thin soap films and study

interference and turbulence patterns.

Over the period of the project I observed Surbhi to be diligent and conscientious in her work.

She encountered various issued during the experiments, and is willing to stick at a problem till it

is solved. She also has a cheerful personality and works well in a group.

Please do contact me should you require any further information.

Sincerely,

Arnab Bhattacharya
