Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits .
Thank You
Thank you to my church family for all the prayers, flowers, and friends through my stroke in December, Rehabilitation in January and February and progress up to now. Through the many prayers I am able to drive again and resume with life! You are such a blessing! Love and Prayers, Verlon Hendrix
Dear Church Family, Chuck and I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind notes of encouragement. We miss not being able to come to church and worship with you. We are enjoying the beautiful Easter lily that was delivered to our home. It has brought beauty and fragrance to our house. We love and appreciate our church family. Love, Chuck and Natalie Loomis
The Charges are Dropped! (Colossians 2:13-15)
As I sat in a circle of people, waiting for the share
group to start, someone asked this question:
“What’s the best news anyone ever told you?”
Without hesitation, one of the men shouted, “The
charges are dropped!” We all laughed but we knew
exactly how good those words were. In reality,
those should be the words we all long to hear.
Those old arrest warrants with our names on them
have been canceled by the redeeming work of
Christ.
It can be shocking when we realize that none of
us—not even one—was good enough to be in the
presence of Jesus. The Bible says that even those
who lead really good lives are separated from God
by their sin. We are all in need of a Savior.
Every one of us must make the decision to become
a follower of Jesus Christ. And when we do,
regardless of how we’ve lived our lives, the
message we receive is, “The charges are dropped!”
Forgiveness is instant and complete! Now that’s
real freedom.

LIBRARY NEWS
By Bonni Bredesen
While on our campus, your likeness may be recorded or photographed. Your presence on our campus or involvement in off-campus events constitutes your permission for Yosemite Lakes Community Church and its ministries to use any image or recording for any purpose.
We have two books highlighted by John MacArthur this month. A Tale of Two Sons is the inside story of a father, his sons, and a shocking murder. John MacArthur takes the story of the prodigal son back to its roots, when Jesus’ words were absolutely revolutionary. He leads you back into the cultural context of Jesus’ time and with an engrossing historical background. This book attempts to reveal Christ’s original message as it was delivered to the most religious of Jesus’ day. In Twelve Unlikely Heroes people such as Samson, Joseph, Gideon, Onesimus and others are chosen to help answer the question as to why God would choose to work through them. The answers to these questions are woven through their stories. God can use anyone to accomplish His purposes. The testimonies of these biblical saints demonstrate that God delights to work through weak, imperfect, and broken people in order to show His power, wisdom, and love.
Billy Graham has written Answers to Life’s Problems. He desires to create guidance, inspiration and hope for the challenges of today. Just imagine being able to sit down with Billy Graham and ask him for advice. In response to thousands of letters, he has written this book to offer guidance and answers to the most often asked questions about every aspect of life, including relationships, ethics, psychological problems and spirituality.
Dr. Henry Ironside for 18 of his 50 years of ministry was pastor of the Moody Memorial Church in Chicago. He was an internationally beloved Bible teacher and preacher and was author of more than 60 books. Many readers will testify to Dr. Ironside’s helpful ability of getting to the heart of any Scripture and making the Bible easier to study and to understand. Your library has had an extensive donation of his commentaries on many of both the Old and New Testament books. They have been placed on the “Bible Studies” cart.
Visit your library often. It is open whenever
the Sanctuary is open. Choose a DVD to watch, a
commentary to study, a book to help with a
problem, or just some delightful fiction to warm
your heart. If you have a question, please call Bonni
at 683-7860.

Mission Statement
Mothers Of PreSchoolers YLCC is here to serve as a ministry and outreach program to reach local families and show
them support, encouragement, and our faith to help them become members of our Church and Community.
MOPS is a great opportunity to meet and bond with other moms who are also going through this very challenging
and often isolating stage of life. A mother of preschoolers is any mom who has a child 0-5yrs. At MOPS moms can
share, encourage one another, and get a short break from “mom duty”. MOPS is an excellent opportunity for
experienced moms and grandmothers to act as mentors to younger mothers.
Meetings are once a month, from September to May, usually the third Wed. of the month from 9:00-11:30AM. Our
meetings include breakfast and speaker presentations on topics that are relevant for all moms. The children are
cared for by the Moppets program, either in a supervised nursery setting or a structured preschool program.
What an incredible Leadership Dinner. We are overjoyed with how many moms stayed to serve and how many new
moms feel called to serve.

Agape Children’s Ministry
By Bobbee Alkema
Somewhere in a village in Kenya, Africa lives a
young teenage boy named Dan. Dan is happy and
successfully learning in his village school where he
is enjoying reading and fully engaged in his
educational program. In school he is eager to
answer questions and learn knowledge that will
grow him into the man God intends him to be. His
self-esteem is high and hope for the future is good.
Agape closely monitors Dan’s progress with home
visits.
Dan was a street kid in Kenya less than two years
ago when Agape Children’s Ministry rescued him
from a life of hunger, filth, danger, degradation, and
hopelessness. Strangely enough, school was a major
reason that Dan ran away to the streets. He
couldn’t learn and achieve in school because he did
not understand class instruction that was given in
English - a third language to Dan. He was beaten at
home because of poor academic performance in
school and Dan’s solution was to run away.
When Dan came to Agape he was given the
immediate care that all new children receive: Food,
a bath, clean clothes, medical care, a clean bed, and
a safe place with loving caretakers. As quickly as
possible his personal assessment was completed
showing trained counselors his level of academic
knowledge, emotional understanding, and spiritual
wisdom.
This is Agape’s process for each new child that is
brought to this ministry from the streets. There are no
cookie-cutter plans for every child as they know that
each kid has unique needs. Loving staff teach the kids
to wash their clothes, bind up physical and emotional
wounds, counsel hearts and lead young ones to Christ.
Agape’s staff of true saints see miracles with these
children every day as the love of Christ covers over
many sins that have been forced on and through their
young lives.
In the last several years, nearly 700 children have been
rescued, discipled, rehabilitated, and reintegrated back
into their families or extended families. All of the kids
come with the baggage of emotional and physical
abuse. It is not easy for teachers dealing with children
who don’t even see the point of learning. What a
difference when the kids discover they have good
minds and can learn. They get excited about school!
So what are the stats for one year for Agape Children’s
Ministry? 252 boys rescued, 107 girls rescued, 168
families reunited, 504 children rehabilitated, all with
an average cost of $271 to rehabilitate a rescued child.
Not every child is a success story, but the reintegration
rate is 80%. For over ten years that I know of, YLCC has
put monthy funding into this ministry. That means we
have helped to contribute hundreds of healthy young
people like “Dan” into this nation and into His
Kingdom. That’s a bargain that only a Heavenly Father
could finagle! Don’t you agree?

Nursery News
In the Nursery we are learning about Noah and the Flood. Each week we do a coloring page to go along with the lesson. The children look forward to this each week. Thank you to all my dedicated volunteers. Our nursery service would not be possible without you.
If you are interested in volunteering in this ministry please call Annette at 658-7514.
Motherhood is more than a stage— it’s a lifelong calling from God.
With it He gives us hearts that love deeply, hands that serve tirelessly, and vision to see His blossoming image in the precious ones
entrusted to our care.
We are blessed each and every day to interact with young mothers who give their all to their families. We are honored to mentor them, share life experiences with them, cry with them and encourage them through this crazy time in their lives. In the blink of an eye these preschoolers will be grown and on their own and all the craziness will long be forgotten.
Happy Mother's Day!

KIC AFTER SCHOOL
Last month the KIC Afterschool kids enjoyed exploring
the concepts of perimeter, area and volume by
constructing rectangular prism buildings with Legos.
Taking the measurements of another groups prism along
with the formulas, we calculated perimeter, area and
volume of the prism buildings to uncover the “secret
number of Legos used to build it. We had fun making &
charting predictions and conclusions for an experiment
with surface tension of water on various coins.
Boomerang math remains a favorite of the Kinder and 1st
grade groups…exploring the relationship between
addition and subtraction while reading, writing and
understanding numbers is so much fun!
During the Easter month, the kids performed several
skits relating to our Bible lessons about forgiveness of sin
and the new life we have in Jesus. We are exploring what
it means to be a Christian and made crosses with both
stained glass art and fuse beads.
We are now taking registration for Summer Day
Camp! SDC will be open from 7 am to 6pm Monday
through Friday ALL summer. Open to all kids grades K-6.
We have lots of exciting activities planned with our
weekly themes. Some of our fun themes include
Western Week with “cowboy” games and stick horse
races, Dinosaur Week making and erupting volcanoes,
and Circus Week balloon juggling, peanut races and
circus games. If your child or someone you know would
like to attend, call Jenny Clark for more information and
registration at 892-6688.
