9:00 am to 11:00 am ~ Class

So You Want To Be A Beekeeper….

A two hour Intro. to Beekeeping, for anyone who is considering keeping Bees, whether as a hobby or for profit, but are not sure where to start.

Bob Blackwelder, Local Experienced Beekeeper, will present information on

how to get started keeping bees, including:

What’s involved?What equipment is needed?

How / When do you order your bees?What is the cost of beekeeping?What are the time requirements?

Who can you call for help?

You will also be able to pre-register For the January Beekeeping Class!

11:00am – 3:30pm ~ Fall Field Day

All Students of Honeybees Welcome!

Activities

Cook-out: Catered by Joe Smith

Open Hives: Look inside the hives and see what the bees are doing; for beginners and experienced beekeepers. Bring veils.

Fun and contests: Bring hive tool, smokers, and smoker fuel to participate in contests and win prizes. (Extra tools loaned by SCBA members will be available for contests.)

Prizes:Smoker, Complete Shallow Super, Hand-rolled

Beeswax Candles, and others.
