FIRST SUNDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS
Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 11:00am
Virtual Worship
Old Testament Reading: Isaiah 61:10–62:3 (Nations will acknowledge the Chosen One of the Lord.)
Epistle Reading: Galatians 4:4–7 (At the right time, God sent His Son into the world.)
Holy Gospel: Luke 2:22–40 (Jesus is presented in the temple by Mary and Joseph.)
Christmas Greetings! The Epistle for the First Sunday after Christmas brings a one-
sentence summary of the Christmas message as Paul writes it to the Christians of
Galatia. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son”
(Galatians 4:4). God knew the exact right time for His beloved Son to come to earth,
this sin-filled world. God had a plan for salvation that was carried out faithfully and
completely by Jesus. In the days after Christmas, we have the opportunity to reflect
on the importance of the Christmas message. We have received the greatest of all
gifts. Through Jesus Christ, we are heirs of God and have an eternal inheritance!

How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me?–Psalm 116:12
You may continue to present your Stewardship Pledges. The amount of time, talent, or treasure that you promise to give is a personal matter that only you can decide after careful reflection and prayer. Give according to your means and according to your faith, knowing that you are a responsible steward of God’s gifts.
Just as a family cannot function without the help of its members, our church needs help from all its members in contributing their time, talent and treasure to accomplish mission and ministry in 2021.
Remember, Jesus Christ. He gave everything—His time, His talents, and His treasure,—to have us as His own and to live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness and blessedness. We have these things as gifts and blessings from God. Let us then press them all into service for the sake of His love—time, talents, and treasures together.
