Rustling in tree above, leaves fall down into frame.Small Creature lived in the forest...

Tree canopy shakes as something appears from behind the foliage.

but was never afraid...

Reveal of Bird, a beautiful bird of paradise. It ruffles its feathers and looks around.

Bird looks below and spots Small Creature. Overjoyed, she dances on the branch, dropping leaves.

Small Creature loved Bird.

Rain falls down on Small Creature.Whenever he felt a little sad...

Bird steps over Small Creature, providing shelter.

BIrd sings a song. Musical notes disperse the clouds and it stops raining.

BIrd would always visit and sing a beautiful song to cheer him up.

Small Creature was so happy that Bird was always there.

Bird’s wings envelop Small Creature like a hug.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUND

Bird holds Small Creature in a tender embrace.Slow zoom in.

He would snuggle into her soft feathers and say,

“Bird, we will always be together, won’t we?”

Bird nods. Small Creature falls asleep.And Bird would always answer, “Yes we will always be together”.

Close up on Small Creature asleep. Bird disappears from behind him.

Small Creature wakes up and looks around him.Now one day Small Creature woke up feeling sad and called for Bird.

Slow zoom out to reveal Small Creature is all alone. Only a single feather remains of Bird.

“Bird, Bird” But there was no answer.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUND

Small Creature stands up. The feather is picked up by a gust of wind and blown off screen.

He decided that she must be hiding.

Small Creature follows the feather and exits frame.So he started to search.

Small Creature pops his head in from the left.“Bird”

Small Creature pops his head in from the right.“Bird”

Small Creature pops his head in from the top.“Where are you?”

Small Creature pops his head in from the bottom of frame. He realises something is wrong. Camera pans down.

“Why aren’t you here?” Still Bird did not appear.

Small Creature looks very worried. His belly wobbles round the edges.

Small Creature suddenly felt very scared. His insides went all wobbly and he felt a little sick. Where was Bird?

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDPan right. Small Creature walks through the forest following Bird’s feather floating on the breeze.

He walked and he walked...

THE SMALL CREATURE Chapter: Scared

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDFeather floats off screen. Small Creature ends up in thick forest. Its dark and spooky and he’s lost. Scary forest sounds.

until he was deep inside the forest.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature looks around. He’s terrified. Sound of his beating heart.

He felt all shaky and scared and his heart beat loudly in his little chest.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature hears a rustling above him. Leaves fall.“Bird, Bird, Is that you?”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDIn the forest canopy a shape starts to appear. Could it be Bird?

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDIt’s a Squirrel.“Who are you looking for?”, chirruped Squirrel.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature looks up at Squirrel.“I’m looking for Bird”, he replied, “she must be here

somewhere”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDPan up from Squirrel on his branch.“I’m sorry”, said Squirrel, “Sometimes our friends go to a

place that we cannot go to. It may have been time for Bird to go to that place”

Pan rests on a gap in the thick forest canopy. It forms the shape of Bird.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUND“But she must be here! I had lots of things to say to her and now she won’t know”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDSquirrel sits by Small Creature.“Don’t worry” chirruped Squirrel. “Perhaps I can help you”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDPull out to reveal luggage tags dangling into frame.“With some large tags and a little string we can make a

special message chain to tell her everything”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDTag fills screen. A drawing of Bird and Small Creature animates onto the tag.

Squirrel helped Small Creature draw pictures...

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDTag fills screen. Short message animates onto the tag.and write words to Bird on the tags and joined them

together.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDClose up on Squirrel.“Now we hang them somewhere that was special to Bird”

he explained.

ACTION / SOUNDPull out to reveal them sitting on a branch with the tags tied round it.

“Trees!”, shouted Small Creature, “Bird loved trees”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDTags flutter in the breeze.Soon they had covered the whole tree with tags. Squirrel

sat with Small Creature and said, “When the wind blows it will take all your messages to Bird and Bird will know how much you loved her and miss her”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUND“I will always be there if you need my help or if you feel scared”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDAnd Small Creature felt a little bit better.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDPan right. Small Creature walks out of the forest following Bird’s feather floating in the breeze.

THE SMALL CREATURE Chapter: Angry

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDHe comes to a stop. A wall of rocks blocks his path. Feather floats off screen, above the rocks.

until he reached a rocky place.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDRapid pull out to reveal the wall of rocks is in fact the base of a vast mountain.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature can’t get past it, he can’t find Bird. He starts to feel desperate.

There a hard, knotted feeling started to grow inside his belly.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDDesperation turns into petulant anger.He was angry. Angry at Bird for leaving him.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDHe takes his frustration out on the mountain, giving it one powerful kick.

“Bird!” he shouted. “Why have you gone?”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDA crack grows in the mountain.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDThe mountain collapses forming a cloud of dust.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDThe dust cloud fills the screen.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDThe dust cloud dissipates revealing Small Creature sitting dejected in the middle of the rubble. It forms the shape of Bird. After a moment, Mouse pops his head from behind one of the rocks.

“Why have you left me?”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDMouse scampers into scene and sits by Small Creature.“Why are you shouting?” squeaked Mouse.

“Because Bird is gone and I’m all angry and scared and my belly feels sick” replied Small Creature.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUND“I’m sorry your Bird has gone”, snuffled Mouse. “Perhaps I can help you. We can make you a Mood Wall”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDPull out from Mouse to reveal he is framed by beautiful coloured bricks of different textures.

“Use these bricks to write or draw all the things you feel about Bird”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDClose up on a stone. Mark-making animates in.First he scribbled hard to show how angry he was...

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDClose up on a stone. drawings animate in.Then he drew little pictures of BIrd...

ACTION / SOUNDuntil they fill the screen, like a multicoloured patchwork.Soon they had built a whole wall of his feelings.

ACTION / SOUNDBricks disappear to reveal Small Creature and Mouse.“I will always be here if you need my help or if you feel

angry” said Mouse.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUND“And Small Creature felt a little bit better”

ACTION / SOUNDPan right. Small Creature walks out of the forest following Bird’s feather floating in the breeze.

THE SMALL CREATURE Chapter: Sad

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDHe comes to a stop. He’s on the beach– waves lap at the shore. He can’t go any further. Feather floats off screen, out to sea.

until he got to the wild and windy sea.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature can’t search any further for Bird. He’s overwhelmed by sadness.

There he started to cry.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDSounds of sobbing. Small Creature’s tears fall into the sea.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDFish appears.“Why are you crying?”, asked Fish.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature talks with Fish.“Because Bird has left me”, sobbed Small Creature “

and v I will never see her again. I have nothing left of Bird. I am all alone.”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDPan up to reveal the shape of Bird in the clouds.“You do have something left”, sang Fish, “you have all your

memories and the love that she gave you”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDThe clouds dissipate, losing the shape of Bird.“But I might forget Bird, I might forget”

said Small Creature.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDCamera pans with fish as he dives down.“Don’t worry” said Fish. “Perhaps I can help you”

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDCamera pans with fish as he dives down.

ACTION / SOUNDPan down ends on sea bed, revealing beautiful buttons. “These are special Memory Buttons. Each one can be a

memory of Bird. They will help you.”

ACTION / SOUNDButton centre screen.One was all blue and green, just like Bird’s feathers.

ACTION / SOUNDThought cloud grows out of centre of Button.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDThought cloud fills the screen, an image of Bird and Small Creature inside it.

Small Creature remembered how he would snuggle into those feathers and feel all warm and safe.

ACTION / SOUNDPoof! Thought cloud dissipates revealing the next button.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDAnother was all red.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUND Thought cloud grows out of centre of Button.

ACTION / SOUNDThought cloud fills the screen, an image of a campfire inside it.

and Small Creature remembered how one night he and Bird had made a fire and Bird had told him a funny story.

ACTION / SOUNDPoof! Thought cloud dissipates and camera pans down.

ACTION / SOUNDPan reveals that the thought clouds were from Small Creature. He has a lots of coloured buttons pinned on his chest.

Soon he had a whole collection of bright shiny buttons and bright shiny memories.

ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature talks with Fish.“I will always be here if you need my help or if you feel

sad” said Fish.

VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDAnd Small Creature felt a little bit better.

ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature watches as the feather flies past the tree. Tree has shapes of Squirrel, Mouse and Fish. They animate slightly when their name is called.

That he had Squirrel and Mouse and Fish to help him whenever he felt scared or angry or sad.
