"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade."

“Great Expectations”, Charles Dickens

By the previous extract from “Great Expectations” we were introduced to “Unit 6” from our course book, which was entitled “ Setting the Scene”

In this unit we studied:• to write a contemporary adaptation for a text• to write an opening scene for a play• More about Shadow Puppetry• to act out and shoot our own opening scenes

And we got ready and excited as never before for the big challenge .....

We divided roles as we needed:1st: Cameramen .. 2nd: Directors..3rd: Scriptwriters..4th: Actors..5th: Actresses ..

We arranged that in every group we should have a director, a cameraman, a scriptwriter and 1 or 2 actors or actresses..

We ended up being divided among 4 groups.........

1st group: Youssef Salahas (director/ actor) Ziad Mohamedas (cameraman) Joumana Waelas (scriptwriter/ actress) Mennatullahas (actress)

2nd group Abdel Rahmanas (director/ actor) Karim Yasseras (cameraman) Iyad Mohamedas (scriptwriter/ actor) Hoda Khaledas (actress) Aisha Tarkhanas (co-director)

3rd group: Menna Hassanas (director) Hana Nasras (camera-lady/ script

4th group Malak Ghoniemas (director/ actress) Ziad Hanyas (cameraman) Hania Mohamedas (scriptwriter/ actress) Mohamed Ramadanas (actor) Omar Ahmedas (actor)

We kept working and working as we were persistent to give it our best try ...

We mainly decided to shoot at school, but some of us preferred to take some scenes outside school premises .....

We’ll leave you now to watch our movies..

Thank you for coming today .. We are honoured to have you all here..

With love, 8B
