DESCRIPTION

This is my second upload to Issuu. This presentation includes my progress from the first round of prototypes and work. I have created more patterns and applied them to more products.

Part one

First concept statement, methodology & audience

How I got started

Patterns that were created from nature

First Prototypes

Part two

More patterns inspired by nature(The photograph, which is then used as inspiration

to create the watercolor, and then the pattern that

created from that)

Working to make more than one pattern from the same watercolor

Working with different parts of multiple patterns to create a new patternWorking with different parts of multiple patterns to create a new pattern

Second Prototypes(Working with paper to make products, and printing on clothing. This was an experiment to see

how the patterns look on other products than just home decor.)

Part three/Next steps

The next step will be a big change in my project. I will not only usenature to create patterns. Insteaad of only using nature as my inspiration,I will make collections of patterns based on other places/surroundings.As of now, there will be three collections: BeachBeachThese will include patterns inspired by shells, sand, water, sailboats, palm trees, etc.

Urban/CityThese will include patterns inspired by city lights, skysrapers, architecture, fast-paced city life, etc.

Greenery/ForestThese will include patterns inspired by trees, lakes, flowers, plants, mountains, birds, etc.

It will be important to look at the forms of the products I make in order It will be important to look at the forms of the products I make in order to find the right way to cover them with the patterns.

Further research will also be done on color theory, other designers andpattern makers, companies that use patterns as their main focus, and the three areas that I am covering (beaches, cities and forests).
