Prayer for the Week O Precious Blood of Jesus, with all my heart I adore You, for the price You paid to save me, for the Precious Blood You poured out to safe-guard me from the evil one. May I be worthy of Your love and gra-ciousness. May I thank You every day for the fruits of Your blessings all the days of my life, and pledge my eternal life to You, my Lord and Savior. Amen
Growing in Grace The Most Precious Blood of Christ
The Saints Say “Prayer is the best armor we have, it is the key which opens the heart of God.”
– St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio)
Reflections for this week We all have days when we feel we are hanging on by a thread and won-der how or where to turn. We question ourselves to see if we forgot our shoes, or have matching socks. We wonder if we will ever get to have one moment, one breath, one second, one blink to ourselves with-out something to do, someplace to be, someone to pick up, or another responsibility placed on our shoulders. When does it slow down?
But this is just the window of opportunity the evil one is looking for: your defenses are down. This is also the BEST time to take a quick breath and say THANK YOU JESUS. Three words that let Jesus know you remember Him and His GREAT sacrifice of His Precious Blood, spilled out for our redemption.
THANK YOU JESUS! From the Litany of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus: Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world, Spare us, O Lord! Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world, Graciously hear us, O Lord! Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us. You have redeemed us, O Lord, in your Blood. And made us, for our God, a kingdom.
Blood of Christ, Pledge of Eternal Life, Save us!

RESPECT LIFE
The Joy of Life Revealed They met at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. John, a Syrian immigrant, was a teaching assistant. Joanne, from Wisconsin, was his student. They fell in love, but one day Joanne found out that she was pregnant. Her father forbid that she marry an Arab, so the pressure mounted for Joanne to halt the pregnancy.
But Joanne wanted her baby to live. Just months before she was expected to give birth, Joanne le! Wisconsin and moved to San Francisco to be cared for by an obstetrician who quietly ministered to unwed mothers. This doctor would deliver the baby and then work with the birthmother to find suitable adop#ve parents. She had a baby boy. His adop#ve parents, Paul and Clara, were unable to have children, so when they heard about the baby they were ecsta#c, and gleefully accepted. They named him Steve. We know him as Ste-ve Jobs – the inventor of Apple Inc.
Please pray for single mothers to have the courage to choose life for their babies and bring joy to adop!ve parents.

F INANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
St. Philip’s to Offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University This Fall Now meeting on Tuesday nights! First class is September 10 from 7:00-9:00 pm
It’s time to stop worrying about money! The nine-lesson Financial Peace University (FPU) course is the proven plan to help you keep a budget, beat debt, and build wealth! Dave Ramsey and his team of financial experts teach every lesson with biblical wisdom, and you’ll get support and encouragement along the way. FPU includes your work-book and a free year of Financial Peace Membership, an online tool kit to support your journey.
For more information go to: stphilipcc.org/fpu
A St. Philip’s parishioner has this to say about FPU:
"We thought we had all of our finances in order prior to attending Fi-nancial Peace University (FPU). We knew Dave Ramsey comes highly recommended, so we thought we’d attend to see if we could learn something. We certainly did, we discovered we’re doing some things right, but we could also be doing much better too. FPU gave us perspective to understand that with both of us still paying down large student loan debt, we need to make every dollar count. Is this purchase really worth it? Did we take the time to find the best deal, etc.? The FPU classes had a way of taking big confusing topics (insurance, investments, mortgages) and making them very easy to understand. FPU certainly has us buckling down in certain places which isn’t easy, but it has given us perspective of where we’re at and a road map to guide us where we want to be. Having this new perspective and plan is liberating. I would highly recommend anyone, and every-one attend FPU.”
St. Philip’s FPU Fall 2019 Schedule 1. Baby Step 1 & Budgeting September 10, 7:00 PM
2. Baby Step 2 September 17, 7:00 PM

7. Retirement Planning October 22, 7:00 PM

“FPU is not a passing trend, an easy solution to a big problem,
or a get-rich-quick scheme. But with sacrifice and diligence, I believe that it will work every
time to bring true financial peace.”
