Product Classification(CPC version 2) for data analysis on tenth CME

Survey of small Manufacturing Establishments, 2008/2009

The survey covers establishments having the following features.

• Establishments engaging less than ten persons.

• Registered in any one government offices.

Sample Frame

• We listed all registered units involved in manufacturing which were operational during the reference period and which had less than ten persons engaged during the survey activity.

• The sample was drawn from this frame and the data has been extrapolated on the basis of the frame especially prepared for this survey.

Sample Design

• The goal of the design was to select optimum number of establishments under each NSICs. (NSIC is in turn based on International Standard

Industrial Classification (ISIC), Revision 3.)

• So as to obtain good representation of the population, special treatment was taken to include all NSIC.

• The sample enumeration is based on single stage stratified sampling technique.

Sample Design

Three strata within NSIC by size of“less than or equal to 5” persons engaged “6-7 persons engaged ” and “8-9” persons engaged Samples are selected proportionally between

the strataTotal sample was 3737 establishments out of

32326 establishments listed.

Analysis
