Things You’ll Need:
Instructor Access Code
•Provided by your Pearson Sales Specialist
An Email Address
•Preferably one from your institution
A Pearson Account
•Register Your Instructor Access Code to Create an Account

1) Open your Internet browser, go to
http://www.pearsonelt.com/progress, and then
click on Register.

Internet Explorer
2) Click on Change Language to select your
preferred language.
3) Enter your access code and then click on Next.
4) Confirm you are registering for the correct
product and then click on Next.
5) Create an Account or Sign In
a) First Time Registering? Click on Create to
set up a new Pearson account. [Go to Step 6]
b) Already have a Pearson Account? Enter
your existing Username and Password, and
then click on Sign In. [Go to Step 10]
6) Read the license agreement. Click “I agree to the
license agreement” and then click on Next.
7) Enter your Personal Information (Email
Address, Full Name, and Institution).
Note: You can still proceed with the registration if
your Institution is not listed.
8) Enter your Account Information. Username must be at least six characters
long. We recommend that you use your email
address as an easy way to remember your
username.
Password must be between 8 and 32
characters long and have at least one
number.
Note: Do not include blank spaces, your
name, or your username.
9) Click on Next.
10) Review your information and then click on
Finish.
11) Click on Go to your product.
12) Complete their Personal Profile by selecting
Country, Time Zone, Native Language, etc.
13) Click Save once done.

1) Go to http://www.pearsonelt.com/progress and
click on Login.
Note: We recommend you bookmark this website.
2) Enter your Username and Password.
3) Click on the Settings tab and then click Create a
new course.
4) Click on New course and then click Next [A].
Note for Existing Users: Please see our knowledgebase
article page for information about choosing other
course types”.
5) Enter the Course name, Course end date, and then
select the Product level from the drop-down list.
6) Click on Submit.
7) Share the Course ID with students wishing to join
your course.
Here is an example of what a Course ID would look
like: pprt-vast-tr99-by94
Note: This information can also be printed [A] and
handed to students.
8) Click on OK.

Before assigning the actual tests, we highly
recommend assigning the Sample Test and
Equipment Check activities. These will help students
prepare for the actual tests and also ensure computer
equipment is ready to avoid disruptions during the
test.
1) Click on Course tab.
2) Choose your course from the Change course drop-
down list
3) Select the test you would like to assign (Start,
Middle or End of Course Test).
4) Click on Assign for the activity you would like to
assign.
5) Select the students.
Note: If students haven’t joined your course as
yet, this option will not be available. The test will
be pre-assigned to students joining later.
6) Select the due date for the assignment and ensure
users have enough time to complete the test
before the due date ends to avoid disruption.
7) Select preferences for the test:
a) Enable Timer (recommended): This will set a
time limit for students to complete the activity.
b) Allow Pause and Resume (recommended): This
would allow students to pause the test and
resume at a later time.
c) Set Start Time: This would allow you to set a
date and start time as to when you want
student to take the test.
8) Click on Assign. The activity has now been
assigned.
