We had an excellent group of candidates who presented themselves forconsideration as we sought to find the right person to direct ourcommunications and marketing programs. In the end we chose KarinHopkins. A resident of Tuskegee, her work his tory includesCommunications Director for the Alabama Senate President Pro

Tempore, Senior Public Information Officer for the Birmingham CityCouncil, Corporate Communications Manager at a public relations agency,

television news anchor, business owner and university instructor of grammar, broadcastcommunications, journalism and writing classes. Ms. Hopkins is in charge of internal and

external communications for UBT as well as planning and implementation of special projects.

WILL HEALTH INSURANCE COST YOU MORE?

UBT and the City of Tuskegee havejoined forces in an effort to help employees get healthy and stayhealthy. Holding down insurance costsis the ultimate goal. The newly established Wellness Committee hasdecided on the following priorities—Critical Diseases, Health Testing/Screening, Diet/Nutrition and PhysicalFitness. The committee is discussingideas that align with these prioritiesand is moving towards implementingprograms to present to everybody whohas a stake in municipal health carecosts. Stay tuned…
