We are trying a variety of tests to meet the needs of the many different learners in our classrooms. We also hope that it will help us see if the students truly do

know how to spell in their writing.

On the back of every Assignment sheet, there

is a list of words that follow the rules for the

week. Ten of them will be on the spelling test..

Grading System

Students will choose two menu choices every week to practice the twenty words on the

back of their Pencil Page. Students will turn in Spelling Homework

Tuesday and Thursday

Please Initial choices made for the week.

Any written work can be done in their Reading

Response Folders.** Menu will

change every month.

After reading aloud for 15 -20

minutes, students should write some type

of written response about

the book.Please initial each night to

verify that your child has read aloud.

Homework Routineo Reading: Read Aloud 20 Minutes Every

Night and Written Responseo Math: Tuesday Nighto Spelling: 2 Menu Choices Due Tues and

Thurs

o Homework should only be done in pencilMake-up Work is due the same amount of

days your child is absent.

How Do I Get Home?o Please be sure to call in any changes in the way

your child is getting home by 1 pmo This will help greatly with making sure your

child gets to the right place safelyo Please wait in Gym to pick up car riders. We

want to make sure everyone is safely with their parents.

o We are still choosing our Field Trips this Year. Both will probably be in the Spring due to scope and sequence.
