Fonts1. There are two groups of text

formatting tools on the ribbon: The FONT group and the PARAGRAPH group.

2. They allow you to fine-tune your text on your slides.

3. For that access to the Font and Paragraph dialog boxes.

More Fonts…

1. You can change the font and the font size.

2. They can also be called “typefaces”

3. And don´t forget you can also change color.

AutoFit1. By default, text in the place holder

boxes on a slidelayout are set to AutoFit, so that if you type more text into them than will fit.

2. The text automatically gets smaller.

Take Note…1. You can choose to split text

between 2 slides, continue on a new slide, or change to a two column layout.

2. In manually created text boxes, AutoFit is not enabled by default; instead, the text box itself resizes as nedded to hold the text.

3. When you hold the mouse pointer over a color box, the color´s name appears in screen tip.

Font styles and effects.

There are thousands types of fonts. The most common are:1. Boldfaced2. Italicized3. Underlined4. Shadow5. Etc…

CHANGING FONT COLOR

1. An easy way to change text appearance is to modify its color.

2. Use the Font Color button in the Font group access a palette of colors you can apply to a selected text.

3. In the Colors dialog Box you can choose from dozens of standard colors and you can even create yours! It´s awesome!

Copying Charcaters Formats With The Format Painter

Format Painter is a tool that copies formatting from one block of text to another.

The format painter can not copy only character formats but paragraph formats such as aligments and line spacing.

INDENTATION

Indentation controls the horizontal spacing of a paragraph formats such as line spacing controls it´s vertical spacing.

There is 2 types of indents 1. Hanging2. First Line The before text setting refers to the

paragraph as a whole. A hanging indent is a reverse indent and applies only to the first line.

CREATING NUMBERED LISTS

Numbered Lists are used to place a list of itemized information in numeric order.

They are used for marking steps, actions items etc.

When you create this, you click enter, and it automatically the next number will appear.

INSERT A WORDART GRAPHIC

In this exercise you can enhance of slide titles by converting them to WordArt.

CHANGE THE WORDART FILL COLOR

You can change the fill color palette for the current theme or any other available color. You can also apply a specialeffect fill to WordArt such as a texture,gradient or pattern.

APPLYING A TEXTURE FILL TO WORDART

THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEXTURE.

Textures are graphics that repeat to fill an object witha surface that ressembles a familiar material, such as straw, marble, paper, and wood. The texture graphics are specially designed so that the left edge blends in, with the right edge.

CHANGING THE WORDART OUTLINE COLOR.

IN THE OUTLINE THEME COLORS YOU CAN CHANGE THE OUTLINE AND CHANGE IT´S WEIGHT, COLOR, ECT.

Most WordArt styles include colored outline around the edges of the WordArt characters.

Just as with a WordArt object´s fill color, you can fine-tune the outline color of the object.

APPLYING SPECIAL EFFECT TO WORDART

You can apply special effects to your WordArt objects, such as shadows, reflections, glows, transformations, and many more.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INSERT A GRAPHIC TO PUT ANY STYLE.

YOU CAN USE THIS AWESOME STYLES BUT FOR YOUR TEXTS.

YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR PRESENTATION, TO MAKE IT PRETTIER AND MORE ATTRACTIVE AND INTERESTING.

ADDING A TEXT BOX

Text boxes can be used to place a text on a slide , in any place you want it.

RESIZING A TEXT BOX

Text boxes can be resized to make room for the addition of other text boxes or objects or to rearrange a text box´s contents.

APPLYING TEXTURE AND PATTERN FILLS.

TEXTURE OF POWER POINT CAN BE LIKE WOOD , MARBLE OR FABRIC. THEY ARE REALLY PRETTY.

A PATTERN FILL CONSISTS OF A BACKGROUND COLOR AND A FOREGROUNDCOLOR, LIKE THE PATTERN ON A CHECKED TABLE CLOTH OR A PINSTRIPE SUIT.

FORMATTING NEW TEXT BOXES If you are going to create lots of

text boxes in a presentation, there are ways you can save time in formatting them.

One way is to redefine the default for new text boxes to match your desired settings.

ORIENTATING TEXT IN A TEXT BOX

You can change the text direction in a text box so that the text runs from bottom to top or stacks one letter atop the other.

SETTING THE MARGINS INA TEXT BOX

Power Point enables you to set the margins in a text box. Margins control the distance between the text and the outer border of the text box.

CHANGING THE TEXT WRAP SETTING FOR A TEXT BOX

DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF THE TEXT BOX AND THE WAY IT WAS CREATED, IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE SET TO WRAP THE TEXT AUTOMATICALLY TO THE NEXT LINE WHEN THE RIGHT MARGIN IS REACHED.

CHECKING SPELLING

The spelling fature in Power Point compares each word in teh presentation to it´s built-in and custom dicionaries.

So it´s a very useful way.
