Oil Spill Containment like theWild WEST!
Many Types of Methods:
Some Work Others Claim they Work
Do you know what’s installed really Works?Who are the experts? How Long are these systems reliable? Do they need to be replaced or require Maintenance?

Passive Oil Containment
•Oil Containment - Not Clean-Up•Keep Oil and Fuel Spills Contained not released•Passive Filtration using Polymer Technology•Testing and Proving Innovative Systems to Potential Clients•Developing Products that Industrial Facilities and Electric Utilities Need
Blue Media in Tube allows rain water to drain 24/7/365
Technology allows rain water to drain and seals with and over load of oil preventing any oil from escaping
After Oil has stopped bottom Media is removed a total seal is made NO OIL IS RELEASED

Passive Drainage Filter Used in Concrete Containment
Passive filter 7” Housing Pipe is installed on a 25° slope and the concrete is cut out in front of the Filter so all rain water will drain off the floor
On the outside of the containment the angle can be seen . The 25° slope is the optimum angle for the fastest water drainage.
A Filter cage is used inside the containment area to protect the Passive Pipe from allowing dirt and debris to easily enter the Petro-Pipe.
SEPTEMBER 4 - 6, 2019
Passive Filters For Ball Valves
Passive Filters are installed on a 25° slope for water drainage of up to 3 gallons per minute.

Pre-FAB Passive Filter Barrier Installation
SEPTEMBER 4 - 6, 2019
Passive Barriers Installed In Concrete Containment Pit
Passive Barriers are installed in the corners of the containment area. The crew prepares the sump for the Barrier installation and also sweeps and vacuums the
entire floor so the area is clean when the transformer is installed.

Proper Liner installation with Passive containment & Filtration
Liner Delivered in Panels all Pre-Fabricated and RF-Welded Liner welded on-site NO GLUE or TAPE EVER USED
Geo-textile on the ground, 38 oz XR5 liner, 8 oz Geo-textile on top Passive Filter for drainage in each corner Stone finishes the containment floor

Actual Spill Con Edison, NY Passive Barrier
250 Gallons of transformer oil spilled in this contained area. The stain on the wall shows the oil level. This spill occurred 1½ years after installation. Only the solidified oil was removed the remaining product was recharged and put back into use.

Petro-Pipe® in Fiery Explosion in Southern California
Petro-Pipe
Passive drainage filter with stood a 3+ hour fire and was not compromised.
SEPTEMBER 4 - 6, 2019
The Passive Filter never failed throughout the fire!

Oil Containment conclusion to Pro’s and Con’s
● EPA SPCC regulations requires oil containment for above ground oil tanks and transformers
● Many interpretation's as to what is required
● A PE must certify the site to be in compliance
● Choosing the best system for each application
● Knowledge is always the best solution
