“Thank you for the opportunity to join this great organization and help serve our community. During these

trying times there are even more matters that need to be addressed to regain a vibrant community. We

will put forth all our efforts to assist and create a positive restructuring of our communities. May we all

work as one to get the job done! On another note, the link below is for anyone interested in starting or

enhancing a small business.

There will be a one day event at the Cobb Galleria Centre on April 25, 2020 called: Small Business Day.

This is a FREE one-day event where we help hundreds of individuals successfully launch their company.

Small Business Day prepares entrepreneurs for success in the business world, through education,

consultation and business resources. If you are interested go to: www.smallbusinessday.com and register.

In regard to the Small Business Day event it has been changed to a virtual seminar that will take place in

the comfort of the registrants' homes on April 25, 2020. They can only accommodate 100 people during

each of the three time slots offered, 9am, 11am and 1pm. The participants will have to download the

Zoom platform in order to attend the virtual seminar. All this information is emailed to those individuals

once they register and are accepted for the seminar.

COVID-19 and the African American Community

COVID-19 is crossing the globe with a fury equal to a Category 5 hurricane, F5 tornado, and the worst

blizzard imaginable all rolled into one. No matter where it started, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) impact on

our society and economy will be forevermore changed. So, one thing every who is reading this

newsletter needs to know. The COVID-19 does not pick and chose who it will infect or kill. Anyone can

be infected regardless of race, color, culture, sexual orientation, young, old, and everyone in between.

To put mildly, this virus is no joke and it is taking lives all over the world, especially in the African

American communities. With that being said, the information on the Internet about blacks are not

affected and immune to COVID-19 is a BIG FAT LIE. DO NOT BELIEVE this myth or hype.

We must follow social distancing guidelines and if your city or state has a shut-in order place, please

abide by it. Besides, know the symptoms of the virus and wearing a face mask anytime you are outside.

When testing becomes available, get tested whether it is for the virus itself or the anti-virus. Know your

health status with this virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website has up-to-

date information on COVID-19 as well as testing availability in your state. Also, visit the websites of the

Small Business Administration (SBA) and Department of Labor (DOL) in your state for information

regarding relief funding for small businesses during these challenging times. Please see the links below

and continue to remain safe.
