Respect Responsibility Co-Operation
Well done Goulburn North parents and community members! The weather was against us on Satur-day but the Fireworks still went ahead thanks to our hard working committee and P&C. Your ef-forts will make a great difference for all our stu-dents, helping to enhance their education in the best possible ways. We recently received a donation of $1000 from the Greek community to help sponsor our break-fast club. As you are aware the breakfast club is available to all our students on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is extremely popular with everyone and ensures that on those days our students get a good start to the day. It costs quite a lot to main-tain the club and the donation from the Greek community is very much appreciated and will go a long way to help pay for the supplies. Thank you! We have a new canteen supervisor, Karen Chan-dler, who took over from Kerrie Sinclair and Barry O’Neil who we thank for their contributions to our school. Karen has already started her new role and has made a few menu changes that look real-ly healthy and appetising. She has wonderful sup-port from a few regular parents who have offered to help but needs more volunteers to ensure the canteen continues to run efficiently. So if you have time and would like to help out at the canteen, let us know. We have a Book Fair next week in the Library. National Simultaneous Story Time is on Wednes-day and parents are welcome to join in with their children. There is more information about this on page 6. Leonie Pearson

Our whole school social skills focus is on being responsible for belongings. Our aim is that students learn better habits to look after their belongings and their
friends.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
Respect Responsibility Co-Operation
How can we be more responsible for our belongings?
Make sure you check at bell times the belongings you had with you.
Ask mum, dad or nan to label all your belongings
Develop good habits (only take certain things out to recess or lunch)
Leave your belongings in a secure place, in your bag on a rack is always good.
Check your habits with your teacher if you are unsure.
Leave valuable stuff at home.
Check lost property boxes in infants and Mr OKeefe’s room.
Some times in our school we move to different areas for scripture, music, sport and
library. These are the days you need to be more mindful of where your belongings
might be. If you lose something find a friend who can help you. Ask a teacher if you
can retrace your steps for the day.
Book Fairs help our
school stock up on
resources to enrich
your children's
education. Best of all,
each Fair provides kids
access to more books.
More books means more choice,
which means kids get to read
the books they want to read.
The right book can ignite a
passion for reading, so we
encourage families to work together to create a reading culture at home. Reading expands
the mind, nourishes the imagination, and opens a world of possible.
We will be having a Book Fair in week 4 from Monday 21st May till Thursday 24
th May.
Wednesday 23rd
May is National Simultaneous Story time, where as many children as pos-
sible over Australia read and enjoy the same book. We will be reading/sharing/listening to
the story at 11.30am. All parents/carers are invited to join their child/children for this event
and then come along to the library if you would like to purchase your child/children a book
from the Book Fair. Our school gets a percentage of the sales to buy more books for our
library.
Thank you,
Margaret Morris
