The partnership between Grazia and the famous international fashion brand Banana Republic continues. The Banana Republic Shopping Night organized in Milan was a big hit, and Grazia readers, who signed up on the Grazia.it website, had a chance to attend an exclusive cocktail party at the store on Corso Vittorio Emanuele in downtown Milan. They even received a 20% discount on the entire new collection. Customers got tips from Grazia stylists and could try on and buy the garments in the “Chosen by Grazia” selection.

Grazia.it celebrated its first birthday: 365 days of great ideas, events, news, photos and more! That’s why Grazia.it introduced a more dynamic, restyled homepage full of links that take readers directly to the info. What’s more, to celebrate the birthday, Grazia.it prepared an exhilarating video with the title “If it weren’t for Grazia.it…” Enjoy!
Grazia.it partnered with American brand Tommy Hilfiger in its launch of The Promise Collection. The proceeds for this exclusive collection will be entirely donated to the no-profit organization Millennium Promise.Besides the support it provided during the official presentation of the Millennium Promise project on April 19th in the Tommy Hilfiger store in Milan, Grazia.it also promoted the #makeapromise contest: just tweet a promise for a better future using the hashtag #makeapromise to have a chance to become a Tommy Hilfiger ambassador.
Happy birthday, Grazia.it!

: 01 40 47 03 51.

Made in Paris!
Grazia France launched its first Made in Paris supplement, 20 pages of ideas and suggestions to discover the 40 hottest and most trendy spots in Paris to go out, to have lunch, to dance and to shop. This Made in Paris supplement will be followed by two more issues, in May and in June, and readers will be always up-to-date about the Parisian glossiest news surfing the Made in Paris section on Grazia France website. A great opportunity to live Paris in true Grazia style!
The office power players have
changed; a killer suit has been
replaced by a killer heel, a
shoulder pad by a chic
Equipment shirt, and a red lip
by a businesslike brow. ‘Your
eyebrows are the unsung
heroes of your face and, when
defined, add instant polish
without making too obvious
a statement,’ explains Bobbi
Brown. In other words: it’s the
most modern way to present
a pulled-together and powerful
image – particularly if your
workplace sways on the side
of conservative, but you are far
from it. ‘All women, no matter
what their colouring, can
benefit from added brow
definition,’ says Bobbi. ‘For
the most natural definition,
I use eyeshadow to fill and
enhance brows, rather than a
pencil. Use a small, hard brush
that’s flat and angled at the tip.
Dip it into the shadow and
lightly tap off any excess. Start
at the inner corner of the brow
and, following its natural shape,
work your way outwards using
light, feathery strokes. Think
fuller, rather than longer,
when it comes to shape.’
Goodbye power lip, hello power brow
While many of us are confident with our
night-time make-up, our 9-5 face can cause
a few wobbles. Here, A-list beauty guru Bobbi
Brown delivers her new failsafe office rules…

Drum roll…Grazia’s Hat Factor winner is revealeD!
After the incredible success of Grazia’s Fash Factor competition last year, we decided it was time we gave a big nod to the ever-growing fashion craze for marvellous millinery. Everyone from K Middy to Rihanna will finish off an outfit with a hat these days, so we put a call out to find the next big thing in British hat design.
A whopping 93 contestants lined up outside
Grazia towers for the first ever Hat Factor – some arriving as early as 4am – with all types of traffic-stopping creations atop their heads. It’s no wonder our crowds were so keen; we had two legendary British milliners – Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones – on our judging panel. They were looking for something unexpected and individual, and as Stephen Jones told us, this was a competition with no boundaries: ‘You can pick up anything and make a hat out of it!’ So we witnessed giant peacocks taking flight, Olympic race tracks, floral beefeaters, spooky bird’s nests and more than one homage to Lady Gaga.
So, after weeks of anticipation, we can now reveal that our victorious Hat Factor winner is Sophie Beale, 29, from London. Sophie’s elegant bird creation was inspired by the British seaside and watching seagulls against the sky. ‘Hearing I’d won almost gave me a heart attack!’ she told us. ‘I really want to pursue a career in millinery – I’m waitressing to support myself while I study it – and winning this is amazing!’ And Sophie’s prize? Well, we STILL can’t divulge what she will be doing, but you’ll hear more details nearer the Olympic Games date.
A big thank you must go to everyone who was involved in the project – we simply adored seeing your designs.
Runners-up, from top, Sinead Considine, Jo Miller and Loren Wood. Below: the judges – including Philip Treacy and Grazia’s Jane Bruton (in green) – deliberate
Left: Hat Factor champion Sophie Beale with her winning creation. Below left: runners-up Ema Yeo, Annelli Clarke and Harvy Santos
Sinead ConSidine, 38, dublin, almost toppled over from the sheer height of her brilliant black rosette-covered Bearskin hat. It was a fun twist on the style traditionally worn by the Royal Irish Guard, and quite the statement piece. Jo Miller, 37, london, was inspired by ornithology, and her bird-embellished fascinator had a section for birdseed – to attract the real thing. A modern-day Mary Poppins!annelli Clarke, 38, norwiCh, wowed the crowds with her very modern take on a laurel leaf headdress. Her neon acrylic number wouldn’t look out of place on many of the hat-wearing popstrels we so adore. loren wood, 22, briStol, used twisted willow branches and taxidermy for his macabre bird’s nest. He was inspired by the ’20s trend for chinoiserie – also one of next season’s big trends.harvy SantoS, 37, london, took the idea of the pentathlon to new heights with his masked design. Working on costume design means he knows how to make a piece with stage presence.eMMa yeo, 28, london, kept her caged and feathered piece – created for designer Corrie Nielsen’s A/W ’12 show – under wraps until the moment she presented it to our judges.

You can’t go wrong with keeping the whole outfit classic and
MONOCHROMATIC – adding a few simple accessories
LOOK 2Tahir Sultan dress, Dhs3,850 at Valleydez. Belt, sunglasses, watch and shoes, Alizey’s own
The dress is VERY VERSATILE
and I love the draping. It’s simple
and can be dressed up or down
depending on the occasion

good with both heels and sandals
GraZia’s MOst styLisH readerAs part of the Grazia Style Awards which dominated the April calendar, Grazia Middle East searched for Grazia’s Most Stylish Reader in association with local boutique Valleydez. Asking all readers to submit one of more pictures of themselves, which reflected their personal style - the winner was announced on the night. It used Grazia
Middle East Facebook and the Style Hunter pages of Grazia to promote this in the weeks leading up to the awards. Receiving hundreds of entries, Grazia eventually selected local blogger, Alizey Mirza (left). In addition to the Dhs5,000 prize shopping voucher, she also won the chance to appear in April Street Style pages.
This month Grazia Middle East also teamed up with fashion house Patrizia Pepe to offer readers the chance to join the Grazia Middle East team for a shopping event at The Dubai Mall. Grazia offered drinks, canapés, a 20% discount, plus a mystery Patrizia Pepe gift and the opportunity to be styled by Grazia’s Fashion & Beauty Editor Rebecca Kelsey. After receiving well over 300 email responses to the in-mag promotion and Facebook activities, the guest list was closed. The night was a huge success and as always Grazia’s photographers were on-hand to pap the most stylish shoppers.

LOOK
Nisa Tiwana, 21, from Pakistan
(Top left) Grazia’s new intern Nisa showed off her style credentials with this nude and neutral look. Wearing a lace top from Next, a pair of OTM wide-legged Zara trousers, Zara shoes and a bag she picked up on a trip to Thailand, she looks totally cool.
Thanita Denkaew, 26, from Thailand
(Top right) Looking every inch the lady, Thanita’s outfit is sophisticated and chic. Keeping the look tonal, she matches a H&M dress with Zara heels, and accessorises with a stunning YSL clutch and ring. Simple, elegant and beautiful.
Amal Tayssir, 27, from Palestine
(Bottom left) Nothing looks classier than monochrome and we love the shape of this Uterqüe top. Amal teams it with Zara trousers and adds a splash of colour with an Oasis belt, Karen Millen shoes and a clutch from Lebanon.
Jovana Hiesmayr, 26, from Serbia
(Bottom right) Colour blocking with style, Jovana’s gorgeous Access dress stands out from the crowd. Sporting the second YSL clutch of the night, she finishes the look with Chanel sandals and an Hermès bangle. Gorgeous!
