arrested Tuesday for simple assault(domestic).

• Miesha White, 21, Lacrosse, Wis.,was arrested Tuesday on two counts ofpossession of marijuana.

• Shenesha Tate, 32, Austin, Minn.,was arrested Tuesday for possession ofa controlled substance and two counts ofpossession of marijuana.

• Dennis Sanders, 29, Mission Hill,was arrested Tuesday on a warrant.

• Nathan Eastman, 32, Yankton, wasarrested Wednesday for driving under theinfluence (second).

• Jennifer Osborn, 37, Yankton, wasarrested Wednesday on a warrant.

ACCIDENTS• A report was received at 8:57 a.m.

Wednesday that a 1993 Buick Park Av-enue collided with a sign in the 400 blockof Spruce St. due to icy road conditions.

• A report was received at 11:03 a.m.Wednesday of a parking lot accident inthe 200 block of West Fourth St.

INCIDENTS• A report was received at 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday that a red pouch containing cos-tume jewelry was found in the 1000 blockof Broadway.

• A report was received at 2:40 p.m.Tuesday of a theft from a business in the100 block of East Third St.

• A report was received at 4:51 p.m.Tuesday that a vehicle was leaking gas inthe 300 block of West Third St.

• A report was received at 6:18 p.m.Tuesday that a vehicle had been keyed.

• A report was received at 8:18 p.m.Tuesday of the theft of $500. A companycheck had been cashed at a bank.

• A report was received at 8:51 p.m.Tuesday of a possible burglary in the 300block of East Fourth St. A door was dam-aged, but nothing appeared to bemissing.

• A report was received at 9:49 p.m.Tuesday of a physical altercation be-tween two juvenile males in the 2000block of Broadway over driving issues. Nocharges were requested.

Temporary Water Outage Planned In AreaB-Y Water District consumers living east of Yankton to the

Gayville Area, and consumers living south of the B-Y Water Reservoirlocated on 302nd St. and 440th Ave. will temporarily be withoutwater service beginning at 8 a.m. today (Thursday).

YHS Orchestra To Present ‘Pancakes And Pops’ The Yankton High School Orchestra is hosting a “Pancakes and

Pops” fundraiser on Jan. 21, running from 5-7 p.m. in the YHSCommons.

OSHA 10 Training Planned At RTEC In Feb.A 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training program, designed

to provide general industry workers and supervisors a broad aware-ness on recognizing and preventing hazards, will be presented at theRegional Technical Education Center in Yankton on Feb. 13-14.

This training, which is being offered in partnership with MitchellTechnical Institute’s Corporate Education, will introduce students toOSHA policies, procedures and standards as well as general industrysafety and health principles covered in OSHA Act Part 1910. Empha-sis will be placed on most hazardous areas using OSHA standards asa guide.

Training runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and contin-ues from 8 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Feb. 14. It will be held at RTEC, 1200W. 21st St. in Yankton.

Jimmie Nicolaus, an Authorized OSHA Trainer in General Construc-tion (2009) and General Industry (2010), will instruct the training. Nico-laus also has 13 years of Electrical Construction and Maintenance(ECM) instruction experience at MTI as well as 16 years of industryexperience.

Tournamentplay will be held from 1-4 p.m. atThe Center on 900 Whiting Drive,Yankton. Registrants can beginchecking in for the tournament at12:30 p.m.

“Spellebrate for a GoodCause” is a fundraising event ishosted by the Yankton Area Liter-acy Council (YALC), a United WayAgency. All proceeds are used toorganize free tutoring classes forYankton area residents who needto learn reading skills. YALC

funds provide all tutoring materi-als and annual tutor certificationfor volunteer tutors.

YALC Board President LorettaSorensen says the tournamentbenefits both YALC and the Yank-ton community by helping peoplehelp themselves.

“Funds raised through thetournament allow YALC to pro-vide literacy skills to individualswith low level skills or those whoneed to learn English,” Sorensensays. “This truly is a ‘good cause’that helps individuals improvethemselves and in turn contributeto our community.”
