OSHA 10 Training Planned At RTEC In Feb.A 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training program, designed

to provide general industry workers and supervisors a broad aware-ness on recognizing and preventing hazards, will be presented at theRegional Technical Education Center in Yankton on Feb. 13-14.

This training, which is being offered in partnership with MitchellTechnical Institute’s Corporate Education, will introduce students toOSHA policies, procedures and standards as well as general industrysafety and health principles covered in OSHA Act Part 1910. Empha-sis will be placed on most hazardous areas using OSHA standards asa guide.

Training runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and contin-ues from 8 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Feb. 14. It will be held at RTEC, 1200W. 21st St. in Yankton.

Jimmie Nicolaus, an Authorized OSHA Trainer in General Construc-tion (2009) and General Industry (2010), will instruct the training. Nico-laus also has 13 years of Electrical Construction and Maintenance(ECM) instruction experience at MTI as well as 16 years of industryexperience.

funds provide all tutoring materi-als and annual tutor certificationfor volunteer tutors.

“Funds raised through thetournament allow YALC to pro-vide literacy skills to individualswith low level skills or those whoneed to learn English,” Sorensensays. “This truly is a ‘good cause’that helps individuals improvethemselves and in turn contributeto our community.”
