INTRODUCTIO

N

PROBLEM

What is it ??....• Any improperly disposed electronics can be classified as E-Waste.

• E-Waste needs to be reduced for a cleaner tomorrow.

The Issue

• Breakneck speed of the modern

world at developing new

technologies.

• The recycling procedures used in

disposal centers in rural India lead

to toxic materials.

• This practice occurs all over the

world.

• There are many harmful materials

used in modern consumer

electronics.

Reason

Electronic devices are not

designed to last

Phonebloks

What is a Phoneblok???..

•Smartphone made up of smart

modular elements.

• Minimize electronic waste.

• This concept is has been

compared to Lego building

blocks.

Why a Phoneblok??....

•It allows people to tinker with their phone.

•It’s essentially a very similar concept to the way

we upgrade our PCs.

•Phonebloks works on the premise that everyone

is different and has different needs from their

smartphone too.

•You can add extra storage to many smart

phones now, but you can’t upgrade much else –

certainly not the camera, processor or the

screen.

•The market of electronic devices is growing rapidly, but it feels like we are building disposable stuff.

• Every time we make something new we completely throw away the old one. Imagine all the good displays, bluetooths and speakers we have thrown away.it's time to set up a universal modular platform that companies work on together.

WORKING

- Each device consists of a motherboard drilled with holes.

- On the front, you can mount a detachable display.

- On the back are all of the hardware features that make the phone work, such as the battery and mobile antenna.

Working:THE BASE

The holes in the motherboard contain electrical connectors, which form a circuit with the conductive pins of the blocks, creating a fully functional -- and fully upgradeable -- phone.

WORKING:The Connectors

Instead of having a fixed specification, you can tailor-make your own phone using ‘bloks’ – individual modules such as cameras, processors and batteries – to suit your needs.

Final verdit

Phonebloks is a phone made to upgrade and repair; it's a phone worth keeping. Usually we throw it away after a couple of years. But this one is made to last.
