Music Magazine Analyse

I like this magazine as it is in black and white and the use of bright pink makes the magazine stand out. I like the idea of sticker look a like for advertisement. I like the main cover line centre of the magazine as that is the first thing you notice and pick up on when you see this cover. The cover also uses repetition of ’10 years’ I like the idea of repetition on the cover. The bold writing used sans serif I like as it is readable and clear also I think you don’t need fancy writing as the pink stands out enough. The audience this magazine looks aimed at is the adolescent, and the type of music is indie. Its message from the black and white image gives a serious look of the band. Even the pull quote gives the impression that the band is deep.

This magazine cover I like the most. The image is powerful and the use of the animals just makes it more interesting and shows lily as a sexy artist who is a little dangerous and crazy. I like the way the cover lines have been written using different size fonts and who they are both positioned. This is much more 21 Century and it aims again to 18+ for young adults. Its much more modern. The main image is a sex appeal and using the animals adds to the cover lines ‘her wicked ways’. This appearance of Lily fits in with image and cover lines making it an interesting read for any reader.

When I see this magazine I believe that it will be worth reading. The cover is not messy and full of adverts and cover lines making it more readable and sophisticated for an older audience. Majority of bands that feature on Q do aim at the older generation 18+ who like the follow up on past bands that they engaged in.

Kerrang features new bands who the adolescent are interested in listen to and go to there gigs. This may be because teenagers like to know more and have more then one favourite band. Kerrang covers the bands for heavier music and it follow ups the type of music they play on there channel of T.V. Listeners may also want to read up on Kerrang.

I like this magazine as the image is upfront and the band look friendly inviting fans in. I like the way the masthead is done to give an explosive smashed view. I like the way the colours are kept lighter making the magazine look fresher and more active. The magazine advertise what's inside ‘free posters’ I like how they have used images of the bands on the posters.
