Dr.Ramya P successfully completed 2 months SICS surgical course at the Department of Ophthalmology, MC. The SICS course is conducted by Department of Ophthalmology, for the post MS/ DO students, to hone their skills in small incision cataract surgery.
Dr. Mala Dharmalingam has been selected as the Most Inspiring Doctor by Times of India and Economic Times in Doctors Day Conclave in Delhi.
Doctors Day was celebrated on 4th July, 2018, at
Medical College Auditorium. Doctors were felicitated

Dr. Malavika Krishnaswamy attended
36th World Ophthalmology Congress,
organized by the International Council of
Ophthalmology, she presented a paper on
Ocular Sarcoidosis with tuberculosis, a
case report at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona,
Spain between 16th – 19th June, 2018.
A girl with severe abdominal pain was
admitted at Ramaiah Memorial Hospital. An
investigation revealed that a submucosal
fibroid measuring 10x10 cms was found in
the uterus. The enormous fibroid was
removed through surgery by Dr Manjula,
Associate Professor, OBG which provided the young lady with
a huge relief.

Sri. N Subramanyam, Senior librarian, MC, been awarded Ph.D. from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, 2018, for his thesis on "Bibliographic databases in the field of Biomedical Sciences: An user evaluative study", under the research guidance of Dr. M. Krishnamurthy, Associate professor, Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore.

was held from September. 6th to 8th,
2018 at PARO, Bhutan.

Dr.Prathap Kumar J, Asst Professor, Anatomy has been awarded by NBE the award of ‘PRESIDENT, NBE GOLD MEDAL’ in the specialty of ANATOMY for DNB Final Examination held on Dec 2013 Session.NBE had organised the award ceremony of 19th Convocation for the award of the Gold Medal on 21stSeptember, 2018, at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi.

completed,the Fellow of Royal College of Radiologist (FRCR) Exam in
Clinical Oncology, held at London in October, 2018.
World Anaesthesia Day, was celebrated on
16th October, 2018, by Indian Society of
Anaesthesiologists, Bangalore branch. Dr.
Rathna N,Sr. Professor, Anaesthesiology,
(Ex-HOD Anaesthesiology), Present COO,
Director – CARE, was honoured and
felicitated for her contribution togrowth and
services in the speciality of
Anaesthesiology. She was conferred with the “Life Time
Achievement Award”, at a glittering Ceremony organised by ISA
Metro Branch and was attended by a huge number of
anaesthesiologists.

Dr MelesseAschle, a medical
graduate from Ethiopia who
was eager to specialize in
radiation oncology, was
deputed from the
Government of Ethiopia to
India for the same. He was
posted in the Department of
Radiation Oncology, Medical College, for a week to observe and
assimilate the finer points of clinical oncology. As there is an absence
of high end linear accelerators in Ethiopia(with only one Telecobalt
facility being available), he was particularly interested in the practices
and protocols followed within department. He was extremely satisfied
with his stint here and hoped to build on the knowledge gained from
here.
