Purpose
• The purpose of this experiment is to apply the principals of torque and static equilibrium.

Procedure • Weigh the mass of each object.• Calculate the distance away from the pivot point for the whole mobile to be
balanced.• Draw up blue prints and force diagrams for the mobile.• Assemble the mobile according to blue prints.

• Even though at certain times the mobile was extremely unbalanced, in the end the whole thing was balanced.
