CourseDescriptionThiscourseisdesignedforthosewhohavelittleornoexperienceorformaltrainingindrumsetperformanceorpractice.Teachingisdirectedtowardsenablingparticipantstoacquireafacilityforthemselves,andinturn,tohelpthemteachandcoachtheirstudentdrummersindevelopingbetterdrummingskillsandoverallmusicianship.Studentswilllearnabouttechnique,styles(includingrock,jazz,bigband,Brazilian,andAfro-Cuban),improvisation,reading,repertoire,anddrumequipment.Noequipmentisrequired;youwillbesuppliedwithapairofsticks,amethodbook,andaplay-alongCD.Eachstudentwillsitattheirownprofessionaldrumsetthatincludesallcymbalsandhardware.StudentLearningOutcomesAttheconclusionofthisgraduatemusiceducationcourse,studentswill:
