 The   fourth   installment  of  Breaking   the   Surface   is   brought   to   you  by   ‘Cane  Records,   a   student   run   record  label  at  the  Frost  School  of  Music  at  the  University  of  Miami.    The  album  contains  12  tracks  that  will  leave  its  audience  in  awe  of  the  talent  that  this  compilaDon  features.    It  is  an  eclecDc  collecDon  of  songs  of  different  genres   such   as   AlternaDve   Rock,   R&B,   Folk,   Electronic,   and   Pop.     The   album   showcases   talents   of  independent  arDsts  from  all  over  the  naDon  possessing  excepDonal  musical  abiliDes  that  contribute  to  the  unique  concept  of  this  project.    Each  track  on  the  album  is  a  gem  in  its  own  right  establishing  each  of  these  arDsts  and  songs  as  commercially  viable  enDDes  that  will  rock  the  music  industry.        Many  of  the  arDsts  on  this  album  were  offered  to  be  featured  on  this  album  aOer  they  had  parDcipated  in  the  Frost  School  of  Music’s  Annual  Songwriter’s  showcase,  which  means  they  have  penned  the  songs  they  have   recorded.    Cat5  Publishing   is   the   student   run  publishing   company  at   the  Frost   School  of  Music   that  curates  the  music  to  be  featured  in  the  annual  showcase  for  each  arDst  to  be  offered  eventual  placement  on  the   Breaking   the   Surface   album   volume   of   the   present   year.     This   album   makes   it   evident   that   the  performance   and   songwriDng   abiliDes   of   these   arDsts   are   ever   promising   because   the  musicianship   they  possess   truly   breaks   the   surface   in   today’s   music   and   arts   culture   and   is   what   most   music   industry  professionals  would  consider  a  breath  of  fresh  air  in  today’s  market.
