Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
God offers salvation
to all who have faith
in Him and follow
His ways.
The Lord welcomes to the Kingdom all who be-lieve in Him and follow Him. His Mercy and Love are extended to all. We must strive not to focus on each other’s differences, but to view others through the Eyes of Jesus, and seek to celebrate that we are all God’s children reaching out to one another with love and kindness.

Mission Coop Appeal This Weekend
The Pontifical Mission Societies, under a papal statue, operate in every Diocese in the world to form the faithful as Missionary disciples and to promote prayerful and material support to the evan-gelization efforts in Mission Dioceses. This weekend, we welcome Fr. Jim Walther, O.M.V. Father Walther, the Provincial Rector of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, is speaking on their mission in the Philippines. The Oblates of the Virgin Mary began giving Spiri-tual Exercises in the Philippines in 1994. Soon af-terwards, they discovered a great demand for their mission. In 1997, their foundation in the Philip-pines officially began. Due to the large size of many of the parishes, the diocesan clergy were of-ten only meeting the basic demands of their parish-ioners. More and more people approached the Ob-lates with requests for retreats, days of recollection, spiritual direction, and extended times in the con-fessional. Through these retreats and recollections, the Oblates help students, lay adults, religious, seminarians and priests to come to a deeper and more serious relationship with God in Christ. It became obvious that more Oblate Priests would be needed and training young Filipino men to be-come Oblate Priests would become another goal. In spite of many successes, there are many challenges. The Philippines is a very poor country, and most Filipino families are poor and live on very modest means. The Seminarians are no exception. The Ob-lates, therefore, shoulder the full cost of training a young man for the Priesthood. Presently, it costs approximately $5,000 a year to educate, feed and clothe a Seminarian. Since the year 2000, the Oblates have given the Spiritual Exercises to nearly every major island of the Philippines, as well as South Korea, Bangla-desh, Japan, Mongolia, India, Papua New Guinea and East Timor.
They need our support; please be generous!
