Creation of Baltimore City Human

Trafficking Collaborative • Introduced Resolution establishing the creation of the first-ever

Human Trafficking Collaborative to end trafficking in Baltimore City

• Currently serving as Co-Chair of Collaborative and Chairperson of

the Legislative Committee

• Plan to introduce legislation in 2018 to provide additional

resources for survivors and hold “Johns” accountable.

An Advocate for Education • Helped to organize fundraiser to restore funding for

Baltimore City Student Bus Pass program

• Raised over $26,000 at bake sale, online, and through

the help of families across Baltimore City

• Encouraged Under Armour and the Baltimore Ravens

to donate a combined $75,000 to fully restore program

Fighting For Our Scholars

Stood firm with my colleagues after several weeks of

failed negations with the Administration in voting 15-0 to

cut over $26 million in funding for programs --- in an

effort to increase support for our youth!

Our effort lead to the following investments:

• $10.4 million for Baltimore City Public Schools

over 3-years

• $2.58 million to support community schools and

after-school programs

• $1.5 million for Safe Streets anti-violence iniatiatve

• $150,000 for the Maryland Food Bank to provide

meals for families in need

• $176,000 for the AARP Experience Corps

mentorship program

Making Our Communities Safer

Co-Authored “Live To Be More: A Comprehensive Violence

Reduction Strategy For Baltimore” plan along with City

Councilmember & Public Safety Committee Chair Brandon

Scott and fellow members of the committee

• Called for holistic and comprehensive approach to violence

reduction strategy with a focus on investments in education

and public health.

• Presented plan before the Maryland State Senate Joint

Committee for Public Safety Hearing with Councilmembers
